CROSSOVERS

Recommended Posts

Alright, so I have the 2 main Captain Power jets, and today got a Cobra Paratrooper, and Matt Tracker to pilot them.

Now Matt Tracker got me thinking, I have a M.A.S.K./GIJoe crossover figure in a Captain Power jet(looks good too), and what if this trend kept going?

So here's the premiss. The Toy Gods have decended from on high and told you that YOU get to decide on the next Transformers Crossover series. After hours of pleading for the main line control, you cave.

You can pick any series past or present, merge them with Transformers, create your own specifics(drivers, power ups, whatever), as well as a back story and bios.

What would you do, and how would you do it?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Myself, I'd choose the Wheeled Warriors, been a long time fan.

Quick 101 on Wheeled Warriors. It was an 80 property that featured cars with interchangable parts. Guns, wheels, motors, even the axles could be swapped out. It had a show, that didn't reflect the toys to well cause well, we complain about Hasbro, but realy we should be happy that we're not dealing with Mattel.

The good guys had white and silver cars and a kick ass base, while the bad guys had organic looking forms and little rubber brains bent backwards with glasses for drivers.

Anyhow, my premiss would be this...

The Lighning League (good guys) are defeated and hiding. There vehicles sit as rotting heaps. The Monster Minds(bad guys) discover a technology in the seized Pride of The Skies similar to what they have in there comand center that alows them to take there humaniod forms out in the open(in the show they couldn't leave the base without changing).

Meanwhile, an Autobot exploration ship is attacked in space and forced to land on the planet the Lightning League was beaten on. They can't leave there ship what so ever due to the same technology that lets the Monster Minds move around freely. They can't keep life support running and without the option of Stasis Lock quickly die from there damages.

The surviving members of the Lighning League find the robots, and harvest them to rebuild there fleet, and prepare to strike back....

The Toys...

Based on the 80's designs, only the main car part would transform. Same as the 80's toys all weaponry would be interchangable. The feet would have fold out pegs so in bot mode they could ride the vehicle bases skateboard style. All wheels would have a coiled cord and peg hidden inside so they could be used as maces and morning stars.

I'd go ahead and include the Battle Base, Trail Blazer, as well as the unproduced Pride of The Skies, and the drivers would be based somewhat on the show characters.

The Monser Minds would change into there show humaniod counterparts, and basicly function the same way. The only real difference would be a gesalt mode that would create a Beast Walker out of a series of cars.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anyhow, that would be my dream crossover, now it's your turn...

Hrm...

Normally I don't like crossovers. However...

Transformers meets Cannonball Run. It'd be a short line of large figures, all cars at Leader scale with action figures included.

Ratchet turns into a modern white and red ambulance, and comes with Burt Reynolds and Dom DeLouise. A bonus store exclusive would include Farrah Fawcett and Jack Elam (the freaky doctor).

Wildrider stays a Ferrari, but this time a 308 GTS instead of a GTB. He includes Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Junior in priest costumes, with martinis in hand.

Sideswipe appears in his G2 color scheme, and grinning like a madman because he includes action figures for Adrienne Barbeau and Tara Buckman.

In a fit of madness, Wheeljack reformats as a Subaru, with revealable rocket engine, and includes Jackie Chan and that other guy. Flip out gadgets galore!

Smokescreen also reformats into a 70's NASCAR Chevy Monte Carlo, and carries Terry Bradshaw and Mel Tillis.

Jazz shifts to a different European car - an Aston Martin. He carries Roger Moore, and the Bond Girl of the Week.

For some bizarre reason, Breakdown reformats into a Rolls Royce Silver Shadow, and his set includes Jamie Farr as a Sheik, plus a bodyguard.

And, of course, various other atomobile - based Transformers would show up, each one with two action figures of stars from the late 70's and early 80's, just to join in the fun. Imagine Leader-sized Runamuck and Runabout! And, of course, just to make sure the rules of the race are followed, Supreme size class Optimus Prime is following along, with action figures of the two organizers of the race. :D

Well, there's always Transformers: Thundercats.

Really all I can think of for that is a Metroplex Cats Lair, or a GODLY Thunder Tank Prime.

After that... Star Trek formers? Tiberius Prime?

Smurformers? Gargamegatron?

X-Men? Professor Prime? Magnotron? ProwlClops? Grimvorine? Uniclypse?

I've got it!

Spaceballs!!! Eagle Prime!

i'd like to see the "crossovers" line have more random bits in - i'd kill for a TF knight rider or even the DoH general lee :rock

How about doing Star wars TFs the other way around???

You now get stormtroopers that look like the movie Bumblebee's robot form, but when their helmet is removed it's really luke or Han In "Bumbletrooper disguise" :lol

Vader now has an arm mounted cannon, The Dinobots are now ewoks and then there's the Autobot base.....

Metroplex Eisley

If we're talking about anything besides the obvious potential for a G.I. Joe/TF Crossover...

I'm w/ siburke for some more random ones. Like a KITT TF or something along those lines.

However, most of the time I don't care for crossovers, but if they did do a G.I. Joe/TF one I'd buy them. I'd pair Prime w/ either Duke or Hawk, and Megs w/ CC. But the humans could do more than just pilot in vehicle mode, they need to have some interactivity in robot mode too, kind of like Power/Head/Targetmasters w/o going so far...unless there was no other choice.

This was going back years ago, but I was in a what if discussion about the Ark landing in this day and age.

I remember writing something like on the way to earth in an attempt to prepair they studied "Broadcast Data Information" the humand beamed into space.

I think Skids was the A-Team van, BB was Herbie Goes Bananas, Beach Comber turned into Speed Buggy, Jazz was the Mach 5, Ratchet wsa the Ecto-1.

The list went on for a while, but it was kinda fun.

Also, Valander, that was a friggin treat, but could we please get a Captain Chaos mail in!?!

I've always loved Cannonball Run. And it gives us an excuse to get some HUGE, highly detailed figures, who can interact with PERFECLY in scale human figures!

Heck, if you want, you could then go nuts with the other crossovers!

Windcharger as KITT, comes with both Michael Knight and Devon...

Ironhide as the A-Team van (frickin' Skids was a hatchback subcompact, NOT a minivan!), with Hannibal and BA (plus a bonus pack with Face and Murdoch)...

Cliffjumper as the General Lee, with Bo and Luke Duke...

And possibly even larger ones - Whirl as Airwolf, with ... erm... whoever was in Airwolf...

Prowl as a Lamborghini with flip out cop lights, and comes with Don Johnson and his partner from Miami Vice (late seasons)...

Tracks as yet another Ferrari, and comes with Higgens and Magnum, PI...

And so on and so forth. :D

And LE... maybe a mail in where you flip Dom DeLouise's head inside his chest and pop out the Captain Chaos head, and unfurl the cape?

Tracks as yet another Ferrari...

What do you mean "another Ferrari"? Tracks wasn't a Ferrari. He was a Corvette.

THA WINNAH!!! You sir have a fertile and slightly skewed imagination. *respects* :thumb

FWIW I too would love to see classic TV an movie cars as TFs, with driver figs- KITT, Mach 5, Shooting Star, MAgnum PI's Ferrari, the Cody Coyote, 60s Batmobile, etc.
