Okay, so I contacted my good friend Shane, who is a Target employee, and he said that when he scans a Transformers Animated barcode, it still comes up as "active." He also comments that they have plenty in stock.

"The silver dot is our version of out of stock, on order, and/or discontinued," he told me. "It may just be temporarily out of stock in that store."

"TFVanguard" also wrote that he went back to the same Target store several days later and it was completely restocked with newly arrived figures like Samurai Prowl, but the silver button was still there.

I'm not exactly sure what this means, really. Maybe they ran out of stock, put it as "out of stock," and then they just got a brand new shipment in, they restocked, and the employee simply didn't bother or forgot to take off the silver button.

Good business sense and everything Hasbro. I mean, not only are they canceling toys that looked good for toys that look shit, and canceling a continuous advert aka TV series for a 2 hour commercial aka film, yeah...

I can see no business sense, except one: They're running out of money, FAST... And they're trying to cut back, failing to realise that alot of people won't buy shitty toys of the movie, and they're barely gonna break even in the end...

:roll

I was reading this last night over at TF2005 and someone made a good point: What if it's the retailers putting the kibosh on the line? My last several outings over the past two weeks have seen the shelves choked with the previous waves of TF:A figures. Maybe they have decided to do a preemptive cost cutting measure and let Hasbro know they would not be interested in carrying the line past current inventory.

Kinda reach-y in thought about that honestly but referring to the economy and it's "Titanic" moves of late, who could blame them. That coupled with the ever so fabulous ROTF line( :roll ) coming in a couple months, they may just be hedging their bets. That said, I have really enjoyed the TF:A line a whole lot, I even got the Jet twins if that tells you anything and I hate to see them go, but what can you do beside bitch here and flail about elsewhere.

*WOOT, post number 500!*

That makes sense as well. I went to Hasbro Toy Shop this morning to pick up Shockwave and there was ZERO listing for him. Skywarp was there and I believe Cliffjumper but he was out of stock. And same here in Sioux Falls as far as quantity. There is plenty to go around. EXCEPT for Skywarp and Shockwave. :bump

Well, I don't collect animated but I was kind of hoping for a nice Blackout figure....oh well. Hasbro will realize the errors of the ways when the see the number of movie figures still left on the shelves. Although I do plan on buying a couple of movie figures the number of figures brought can be counted on one hand.

Edit to add that thumbnail, is an epic win.

Hasbro wants your money in a piggy bank when the fallen toys come out!!!!

Yeah, I don't think so.

HOLY SHIT! IT'S THE APOCOLYPSE! RUN FOR YOUR FRIGGING LIVES! OH MY GOD!

This. Can't. Happen.

I say we break into Hasbro HQ in pawtucket RI and force them the bring back animated even if they have to cancel all other franchises except for Star Wars and GIjoe.

I said it on Seibertron and I'll say it here.

You cannot listen to TFVanguard.

He's well known for spewing fraudulent comments. I remember him when I was on the ALLSpark, years ago. The guy's a total blowhard and everything (of worth) out of his mouth is a fabrication.

He's even proven that he's lied with this already. One day he says they're tagged for permanent removal and the line's ending, then a few days later they've been fully restocked and then some.

Why, oh why, would Target restock an item they're trying to clearance and told to get rid of? They wouldn't. My girlfriend works at Target, she's a GSTL and I had her check on her PDA. Her store has them "ON ORDER".

Why would two Targets (in different states) have new stock, or stock coming in if they're not carrying the line anymore? That's just silliness.

True, it doesn't mean the line's not canceled, but it doesn't mean it's ending right this minute.

TFG's so full of shit it boggles the mind. Take anything he says with a planet sized grain of salt and go on about your happy lives with the status quo.

I do believe Animated is coming to an end, but I'm not basing it on him being an "inside source" He's obviously wrong!

This is merely proof that Hasbro monitors these message boards.

If at Toy Fair when they showed Arcee we all said, "EWW GURL! FAIL" then they would have shoved her down our throats.

But since the response was very positive, Hasbro said "NO ARCEE FOR U!" and scrapped the line.

Because we all know Hasbro only does stuff like this to piss off "true fans."

(I kid, I kid! Seriously, too bad. I didn't buy much Animated, but I respected it for what it got done.)

ill belive it when i see it.
