Leader is just more cost for electronics and a gamble at quality. It wasn't until Movie Brawl and Prime that I actually felt the Leader class could work. Before then, we had the mediocrity of Cyb Prime, Metroplex, and Energon Galvatron.

Well yeah the old LC toys stunk bad. But you KNOW you'll get a good Rockinator in LC if Hasbro does one.

To which I won't deny. But Starscream getting toys all over is a lovely thing. Did you hear the rumor he's getting a non transformable robot replica?

I saw that. I had Barricade and Bumblebee and they arent all that great. Rockinator will fail too unless his articulation is handled well. And that means all of his knees need to bend

I'm waiting on one in G1 colors with a new head. Just like before.

Not to mention there could very well still be a leader class Rockinator somewhere over the horizon. And thus further proves there's no reason to buy an inferior voyager class figure.

What what? Clearly you're mistaken: the BEST size classes are Voyager and Deluxe.

 

The whole "Movie SS must be EXACTLY like G1 SS" have clouded his judgment. Severely.

It's just impossible for him to accept this as different continuity/universe than G1.

But when the characterization, rank, and alt mode are all exactly what they were in G1, Then this is, indeed, supposed to be G1 Starscream reborn. But when he is always kept the same in every last TV show ever seen just as Optimus Prime was, then his look is part of who he is. And this head FAILS to maintain the traditional design. If this isn't G1, then Optimus Prime and Jazz would not have been made so G1-like. Your arguement is null and void.

Please correct me if I am wrong but was this the "Target Exclusive?" If so, with the exception of the head and colors didn't he have the same mold body style as the others?

 

I am just curious, as I thought you didn't like that particular body type. Again I'm not trying to start anything, please correct me if I am wrong, I may have missed something.

 

 

 

Aside from that would like the see the Constructicons, particularly interested in seeing them.

 

Yeah the G1 color variant was a target exclusive. But that mold reeked horribly. No hands, blocky buildup, wings werent visible on the back, everything was horribly wrong with it. The fat body is fine, but the meatgrinder face is not. Nor is the bland uninteresting color scheme. This was fixed in that Target exclusive toy. But it still suffered from a lousy mold.

 

:pfx with the mold. I figured like Barricade I could "tweak" this Starscream to my liking, but I'm going to wait a bit longer and see what Hasbro throws at us. If the robot replica is true I'll go from there.

IMO a Leader Movie 'Screamer would be a letdown. Despite its flaws I really took a liking to the TF1 Voyager Starscream figure, and the RotF remould seems to have improved on the one area that needed fixing, the hands.

 

RotF's Leaders will likely be Optimus Prime, Megs/The Fallen, and Jetfire.

It wasnt just the hands that needed fixing though. The old toy looked nothing like he did on screen. It was complete garbage. Leader Class Rockinator is the only way to make him look proportionate enough. Limbs that are the correct length in relation to his body thus making him look less fat.

 

This figure may have fixed the hand issue, but there is no way that that ridiculous looking crotch area can make it an acceptible toy. It looks horrible. And the legs are WAY too short thus once more making ol Rocky look short and fat instead of aerodynamic and agile. (i use those terms loosely since he'll always look fat)

 

I highly doubt Jetfire will be the other LC figure. He's not as important of a character as Rockinator is.

Yeah, but since the toy line is usually aimed toward the younger crowd I highly doubt there will be a "movie accurate" toy. ( I wish there were some) I always chuckle when I see "advanced conversion" on the toy packages, I would like to see Hasbro take it up a notch though.

So wait, semi racism is a foundation of G1 Jazz? That's really all I got out of Jazz, maybe if he actually had some more lines other than, "What's kickin' little bitches, this looks like a cool place to kick it" I wouldn't've interpreted it that way. And I believe the movie-verse comics have established Prime as totally different than G1, he's the leader of the Cybertron Science Team, not some young bot shot down by Megs and reformatted into a leader.

He and Jazz serve the same purposes on the team as they did in G1 plus they look a LOT like they didin G1. Their origins don't matter.
