Why are there so many boneheads when it comes to this issue of "modern t-rex" and Grimlock?

I think the figure looks real good, and that it captures the spirit of G1 Grimlock very well. His T-Rex mode stance in the second picture looks like it captures the spirit almost dead on, irregardless of whether or not the real T-Rex stood that way.

Yep, that's one big hunkin' Grimlock! On a side note...it's funny how we still thought T-Rex dragged his tail in the '80's! :tfevil

More like "guys designing cartoon characters/toys" thought that.

:tflaugh :truthy

Wiki'D!

By 1970, scientists realized this pose was incorrect and could not have been maintained by a living animal, as it would have resulted in the dislocation or weakening of several joints, including the hips and the articulation between the head and the spinal column.

I guess Spike and Hound must have gone to "Murray's Dinosaur Warehouse".

That's why people should support their local natural history museum. People have no right to batch about raised admission fees and the lack of an updated dinosaur exhibit.

G1 homage.... or modern updates?

I think it's clear the MP line is paying homage to G1.

And I for one like it. I don't give a Rex's behind if it's drug or 45 degree forward. It pays great respect to the G1 likeness.

What I find more curious, is the future direction the MP line will take. Will they stay in the early years.. will they stay with the 'leaders'...(and the seekers were merely sidenotes due to same mold useage to maximize some profits)... what characters will be next..

FOR ME.. i want the entire first year cast. I would also settle for the leaders and key figures (ie, soundwave, bumblebee, etc). But the minute they start doing insecticons... and the figuers that drove me away from the original G1 TFers to begin with... i'm done with the MP as well and will no longer feel a need to be a completist on this line either.

But VERY happy with Grimlock. I preordered two of them.

Grimlock and the Insecticons were both early 1985 characters.
