Upgrades

So I'm in Pound Stretcher today and I find a cheap Transforming toy. It's a die-cast police bike that transforms into a less-than-stellar-looking robot. (You may have seen another version of this toy around. I'd never seen the police bike version before). So, anyway, I switch the upper arms over (because it was assembled wrong) and slap on a couple of Autobot symbols and lo and behold, Alternator (ish) Protectobot Groove is born! (Sorry for the pics but it's really hard to get a good photo of the bot mode. His head is in a funny place and he can't actually see over the front part of the bike!)

I'd forgotten to mention it in my other threads and I haven't seen anyone else mention it. So, I figure I'd start a new thread. It was a really simple swap for ironhide since his wrists are already ball sockets. Popped his fists out and popped Alt richochets in thier place. I think Prime, meister and skids have nearly the same hands, so they should all work as well. Dreadwing was actually kind of a fluke while I was messing around with superlinx modes. An alt sideswipe hand fits perfect into his jet thrusters. It locks into place when you push it in. Prowl hands work, but aren't as snug and look a little big. Hey, Transrepro has a new alternator wheel jack head. For all the rest of us customizers I would really like to have some other heads, especially a Dead End head (to make a police car Sunstreaker or something.) Would anyone be interested in pooling funds to have molds made of certain parts and what not?

Can Prowl and Skids' heads be swapped out?

I posted my Hot Rod repaint of Alt Sideswipe a while back. I didn't have any flames on him then, but now they're done. With regard to the flames, I couldn't find any decent decals - tried experimenting with stencils, which was a bust - then finally just painted them freehand, which turned out OK. I painted them silver, then gave them a coat of clear yellow, they look a little golden in the pics, but in person they have kind of a shimmery effect. (I also repainted his arms as per the many suggestions by you guys, so he's a lot less orange now.)

Thought I'd post my version of Alternator Hot Rod, he's just about done. He's sort of an amalgamation of the various Hot Rods (toy and animation). I've been looking for a good decal source for his flames, I have a model kit of an old Chevy hot rod that has some suitable ones for his hood and doors, but I would still need some around the Autobot crest on his chest - however, since another decal source probably wouldn't match, I may just have to make some stencils and paint all of the flames. The other cool thing about the aforementioned model kit is that came with a big ole' blower that would look cool sticking out of my Hot Rod's hood when he's in alt-mode. Then I …

When I picked up my blue Tracks the paint job on his head was messed up. So, I swapped heads with my yellow BT version, after repainted the messed up head with Energon Hot Shot's head colors. I also mis-transformed him to put the rocket launchers behind his back (so he can put them up to fire Armada-style).

Well here he is guys I would have had him done a helluva lot sooner but I'ev been way to busy with that darn working thing (I gotta save money for OTFCC some how :roll ) Anyhow here he is. The first thing you'll notice I decieded to change his transformation around just a little. So he wont look like just a redeco.
