Alternator Groove (kinda)

Recommended Posts

So I'm in Pound Stretcher today and I find a cheap Transforming toy. It's a die-cast police bike that transforms into a less-than-stellar-looking robot. (You may have seen another version of this toy around. I'd never seen the police bike version before).

So, anyway, I switch the upper arms over (because it was assembled wrong) and slap on a couple of Autobot symbols and lo and behold, Alternator (ish) Protectobot Groove is born!

(Sorry for the pics but it's really hard to get a good photo of the bot mode. His head is in a funny place and he can't actually see over the front part of the bike!)

The toy is 1:12 Scale.

There are some good details like the engine block on the bottom that form the underside of his forearms, the working kickstand and the detailing on the dashboard.

That chest is VERY bulky, but I can hardly hold YOU responsible for that. Is there any way to slide the front wheel out?

What are those transformers called?

Looks nice, but that front wheel in robot mode really is in the way.  If it could be removed.

Yeah, the chest is far too big. The front wheel only turns very slightly from side-to-side.

Here's a pic of the box. It says "Chief Cop-Bot Police. Transformable." There's even a TF-style faction symbol on the box that looks like a combination of a police shield and a robot face!

And if anyone's interested, here's a size comparison pic with Swindle.

Sorry if I'm being dumb but who's "Lazer Rod Axer?" Is there a new version of my favourite Action Master coming out?!

Lazer rod Axer came out originally in the early 90`s then he and Lazer rod Sideways were rereleased as part of the RID line. He is a black indian bike that looks alot like Groove.

just wondering can you turn the head and whest 180  then swap the arms back over?
