Nothin like a good old G1 fashioned alt.

i'm not too keen on the character, but the conversion is quite nice...i'd like to see the flames and whatnot in alt mode....HURRY UP AND POST PICS!

Nice work Jin! Thats really nice- the head turned out really sweet! One of these days I need to do a custom of my own. I just need to figure out what to use as a head....

Alt. Hot Rod could be a repainted Dead End. (I know how ironic it is to make a repaint basically of a repaint.) But he could be almost red in his car mode... maybe flames in the hood, and his chest in bot mode could still have orange and yellow highlights surrounding the Autobot symbol. Redo the head as we've seen here already..... paint as G1 (or not, suit your fancy), and for goodness sake, make that dangling hood into a shield! :tfgrin I think this will solve for a lot of the flame-direction issues, spoiler placement, and other things.

i would actually take both dead end and side swipe and piece them together.

 

just my idea for alt hot rod:

1. bash it in a way so that the dead end vehicle is kept, but utilize the side swipe windshield and convertible rear cover - this will eliminate the red tinted windows, so custom blue tint can be applied for G1 homage

or

2. somehow tint the dead end windows to all blue, is it possible given a red base already?

3. the dead end mold has the side exiting exhaust pipes - perfect reminiscence of G1 hot rod, nice subtle updated touch

4. i totally agree with a customized hood blower to be used as a secondary assault rifle!

5. I would paint the mold in RED, keep the stripes and paint all stripes YELLOW, utlizing the hood vents as a basis for flame flares... all done in orange, extend these flame flares to the hood and trunk.

6. apply custom flames on sides if possible, if not just leave blank is fine

7. for vehicle mold, custom make a rear wing with the same height, but more angular to relate to G1 hot rod rear wing - in yellow

8. for robot mode... we need that wing somehow to appear... damn it... is there a way to rotate the trunk in robot mode???

9. use the same head, it's perfectly sculpted! props!

 

if i had the skill, i'd try this version for hot rod.

i hate to admit... sort of embarrassed too... but i never played with photoshop... not even the simple thing about replacing aftermarket rims onto a car... nopes. none.

 

i wish i can do one myself!!! :( but i'm glad you understand the general additions i listed tho! :)
