I received this email today. I completely forgot about the contest so forgot to submit my customs this year. It's a pretty cool contest. I entered last year. Anyone here entered this year?

I had this Blotty Lambo model sitting around for the last 17 years so I figured I'd try shelling. ^^It's currently got some mean ol ass gaps big enough to throw a cat through, but I'll be filling the Blot outta it to make it all tight. ^^The center rear section is removeable and contains the shoulder launcher. ^^It's got some half-ass lambo doors. I even got some new mags for it to fill the wheel tubs. The rear ones are currently on but I'll need to do a minor drop on the front before installing the others. ^^The countach interior fit nicely so I used em. Ok....I'm far from done, but what I saw as necessary: -Paint the visor blue...it is WAY too dark. -Paint the shoulders black. -Paint the feet silver. What to do with the doors? Stick them in his backpack of course: More to come when I get the motivation.

Well it's been a loooong time (and many attempts) but I've finally put together a kitbash of Ironhide that I feel does the G1 character justice. The shell is a mold of the super hard to find vintage Nitto 1/24 kits. It's not perfect and has some casting imperfections, but hey, Ironhide is an old bot so it's wear and tear from warfare. I've included WIP shots leading up to the almost done jammy. Enjoy... Early test. Early shell fit. The shell was cut on a band saw. So I had an extra Alt.Grimlock for a while now. As much as I grew up with G1, I'm not as attached to it as most fans my age are. Anyhow, I wanted my Mustang to be red. Looking around my room, I looked for a character that could fit a red, brute-like Alternator with a melee weapon. Cybertron Scourge / Galaxy Force Flame Convoy seemed to fit the bill. I much prefer the name of Flame Convoy, mainly because "Scourge" to me is either the G1 Galvatron-minion, or Black Convoy/Nemesis Prime. Yes, I realize that Flame Convoy is orange and not red, but I thought that an orange Mustang would look kinda odd, and I think the red suits Flame Convoy's character anyways…

This was a test. I used Rollbar's head. it just sitting on the neck of ironhide. but i think it looks so much better. even my gf thinks it looks MUCH better haha
