What figure do you think needs remaking

Recommended Posts

As lame as most of the Pretenders were just in concept, let alone design..., how about some modern versions of the Mega Pretender concept? Transforming inner and outer bots? I had Crossblades and Thunderwing as a kid, and they were so much more fun then the standard Pretenders. I'm still tempted to go out and find me a Blue Bacchus (Japanese version Crossblades) one day. Modern technology could make some really interesting figures with this concept.

I would also love to see the dual bot one alt mode concept a la SWTF Millenium Falcon revisited. Granted classics already covered them, but something like Sideswipe and Sunstreaker than combined into a single Lamborghini...? Maybe it's just me?

And..., yeah, how about making that Autobot Shuttle Omega Supreme from Animated, it really needs to happen, such an awesome update to a great classic toy.

All just ideas, but some interesting concepts that would be fun to revisit, in my opinion.

2 bots 1 alt is an interesting idea, so is the 2 alts 1 bot. Using it on Sideswipe, and Sunstreaker no. Using some G1 characters like that is wrong though using the G1 Micromasters like Missilemaster, and Moonrock who had half Alt modes would be cool. In fact it would be cool if they brought back the micromasters using new molds. As for 2 Alts one bot you've got bots like Flywheels. Well that took a little researching. :tfgrin

Just using them as an example. But i do still really like the concept.

I was looking at my RID stuff the other day and thought to myself: The spychangers could use an update. I was thinking Scout size, to keep in scale (and affordability!). They could even repaint 2 spychangers in the batch to save some money. Mirage and Ironhide gotta have their own molds though. Ironhide would have to keep that crazy cow skin paint sceme too.

Just kinda sick of looking at my gobot spychangers is all.

Make it a set for 50 bones (Canadian bones) and I'm sold! :tfgrin

That'd be freaking awesome dude. I'd love to have Scout size Spychangers.

But for me...Rhinox. I like the original, but there's a few things I'd change about him if I could. One would be get rid of his beast mode arms in robot mode better, cause they get in the way. The other would be to find a way to fold his skirt parts so that they don't hang so low on him.

Good call on Rhinox, he is well overdue for a new mold.

What about the old G1 Headmasters like Chromedome and others? Would they make good Classics/Universe remakes? I remember G1 Chromedome looked like he could have been made with articulation if that had been part of the engineering for TF's back in the 80s.

A retooled Universe Optimal Optimus

Gimme some telescoping chest guns, articulated fingers, and a light up spark in the driver seat, with a new not so flat bot head...

Optimal Optimus is a favorite of mine, I'd love to see the figure tweeked and made perfect.

  • 1 month later...

Just like the Optimal Optimus, Hasbro should consider re-realeasing some hard to find TRANSFORMERS, just like they are doing it with the Starwars figures and GIJoes.

Not some redecoes, the original styles, but now re-packaged like UNICRON in Universe 25th Ann. packaging.

i'd like to see:

-Energon Voyager Galvatron (from the Takara Superlink TF version)

-Energon Voyager Megatron (from the 2-pack retail exclusive)

-Energon Deluxe Optimus Prime (from the 2-pack retail exclusive)

-Energon Omega Supreme

-Cybertron Leader Galvatron

-Cybertron Leader Optimus Prime (1st. version)

-Cybertron Override (1st. version)

-Primus

-Cybertron Voyager Starscream

-RID Ultra Magnus

-RID Optimus Prime

-RID Nemesis Prime ("Scourge"'s name corrected)

-BeastMachines Ultra Jetstorm

-BeastWars Deluxe Optimus Primal (from Robotmasters)

-BeastWars Deluxe Lio Convoy (from Robotmasters)

-BeastWars TigerHawk

-a Fan's choice BeastWars Transmetals.

and the list goes by....

As long as they keep the vacuum metalised chroming of any of those figures. I have 2 Ultra class BM Jetstorms and both suffered from the chroming flaking off. I ended up sanding all the loose chrome off one of them and repainting all the bits Blue. Looks ok now, just need to get a Decepticon Reprolabel on him. I hated Vehicons so he's a Decepticon in my books

I'd like to see G1 Scourge re-made to better resemble what he actually looked like on the show...and Galvatron too, for that matter (Universe Cyclonus looks SO MUCH better by comparison). I've got Universe Galvatron, and I'm not impressed.

I've gotta give some love to Reflector, too. Somebody please hook him up with a show-accurate figure.

Actually, Universe/Classics isn't all that far away from producing all of the Season 1 Decepticons. I'd love to see it happen.

Anyone else up for an updating of Powermaster Optimus Prime? I first met him in the UK Transformers comic where he was awesome - and then I saw the toy. Not quite what I'd hoped for.

I'd also go for Supreme versions of Fort Max and Metroplex. They're both city-bots, so Hasbro can use the same base design for both, but remold other parts (the heads, surfaces details (ie mini-towers), weapons/accessories (Metroplex has to have his twin rifles) and mini-con companions, etc.

Not that they were my favorite characters ever, but I would like to see Flywheels and Battletrap re-done to give us Duocons that actually look good.

I thought the whole Pretenders concept was a good idea that was totally ruined by--among other things--straying so completely far away from the concept of an alien robot on a foreign world adopting a disguise to blend in unseen among the general populace while also working covertly to expropriate the available material goods and resources of said world.
