Can anyone give the reason why they are changing some names these days? Bombshell into Hardshell??? Slag into Snarl??? I don't get it. Does anybody know the REAL scoop?

I was gonna say something like that but I didn't want to start a quote war because of toys that look good enough. Oops. And, here, we, go.

Hound and Cyclonus are DEFINITE buys for me. I may get Inferno, since he was my first regular sized Transformer (Bumblebee was the first overall). The Legends are almost a guarantee as well, but I wish there were some cons in there. Cheetor is probably going to be a buy, but that all hinges on the proper transformation of the arms. I might get two screamers to turn into Skywarp and Thundercracker, unless I get ahold of Acid Storm. I hope there are more figures that are coming out than just this.

They lost copyright to some names, and since they're generic words they can't re-copyright them. Like with "Slag," that name hasn't been used since G1 (or G2 I guess, since they reissued him then). "Snarl" was used in BW and BM and Cybertron etc.

I stopped collecting "main line" stuff because it got too expensive, so I'm extremely picky now. It's not that there's anything wrong with either of them, it's just that I don't need another Hound or Ravage unless they're like OMG AWESOME. But I might get them anyway. I'm getting Cyclonus.

 

The only ones I have a real problem with are Cheetor and Bruticus.

Actually, they got the Slag trademark back. But they're not using it because apparently, in some dialects, it's a curse word.

DAME, that cyclonus and hound looks soo good and so does all the animated ones execpt that legends starscream and bumblebee and why would they put animated bumblebee back on there!
