Whiskey Tango hit's it right on the head. Most of your general population really don't know anything about the Transformers except maybe a small handful of iconic characters. These movies are their introduction to the mythology of the Transformers. The Fallen is a part of the Transformers history. He's one of the Original Thirteen, and one of the most powerful villains in the saga.

I'm still not getting where this was actually NEWS...

We have known about the fallen being in the film for how long now!?!?!?!?!

useless thread we all know theres a comic character the fallen!

It wouldn't be a stretch to have some blatant Christianity influenced themes in a major American Hollywood Blockbuster now would it? The idea of the Fallen character from the comics could pretty much lead to that storyline, Lucifer perhaps? When good guys go bad?

I mean Bay's right into the military perspective, why not the Religious one? GOD and WAR pretty much go hand in hand don't they?

I'm no GOD-basher, but it sounds right to me...

And a 'Fallen Angel' character would most likely score some emo/goth market points! We might even get some outstretched wings sticking out the back of a giant robot! Black silhouette style! Maybe like a TigerHawk style character!

And who cares if it's not something that people remember or associate with Transformers? The fact that it's an obscure story from the franchise that most fans and non-fans dont know about is perfect for relating to the fans! If you listen to the Lorenzo di Bonaventura "interview" here, he pretty much alludes to some serious fan placation, what would placate fans more than totally weird and obscure references to seemingly uncommerical ideas? Trouble is, they will subvert those ideas to their own advantage! In the case of the Fallen, they don't really have to subvert them that much at all! WIN-WIN!

Then again it might just refer to the Decepticons getting revenge from the first movie... :zzz

Well if the fallen is in the movie ( which i hope he is) then :awsum . Plus if hes the main villain then he'll get a ACTUAL toy and probably a leaderclass. i have NOOO problme with him being in the movie and if he is then u know who that means.. a certain chaos bringer lol.

i would rather have a leaderclass starscream with machine gun, engine, speech and transforming noises and lights
