Most overused mold?

Recommended Posts

BM Jetstorm was one that comes to mind.. but to be honest, I've grown to love the mold. Surprizingly, the repaints are much better than the original. Same could be said about BM Obsidian. Sooo many times this guy's been repainted.. some good, some bad.

Indeed, Armada Sideswipe was probably the worst choice to repaint.. but I think the runner up would have to be Armada Thrust.. he really doesn't deserve as many recolors as he's got already.

I have to agree on Armada Sideswipe and thrust I always thought they were ugly as heck. Behind those I'd say Energon Ironhide and armada Cyclonus. Cyclonus I never really liked. The only redeeming version was Buzzsaw, but only because that head rocked. Otherwise I always thought he looked really weird in either mold.

Starscream.

The original, yes. You've had Starscream, Thundercracker, Skywarp, Dirge, Ramjet, Thrust, G2 Starscream, G2 Ramjet, Sunstorm, Ghost Starscream, Black Starscream, Anime Starscream, Reissue Starscream, Reissue Thundercracker, Reissue Skywarp, etc, etc.

Funny thing is, if you didn't have Skywarp and Thundercracker repaints in the 84 line, the Decepticon forces would pretty much be just Megs, Screamer and Soundwave. :tflaugh

I thought that's all there was anyway... Thundercracker and Skywarp may as well have been "Rainmakers" for all the screen time / character development they got.

And Reflector. Can't forget him.

And the Cassettes. And Reflector. And Rumble. And Reflector. And Rumble. And Reflector. And Rumble.

actually runabout had a new head and a force chip gimmick in the hood and his minicon was replaced by a larger gun i dont have one myself but I really wish they did do a runamuck

any ways I think bendy prime has had its time. its a good toy but they never really seem to do much with the repaints just redo the same basic prime colours apart from your run of the mill Nemesis and magnus.

theirs the Armada, Micron Legend, Crystal Micron Legend, Nemesis Prime, Scourge (Micron legend mail away toy) Black Micron legend (yes they had 2 black repaints in Japan), Universe Ultra magnus, Cybertron, and now Universe with more G1 colours

the only changes are ditching the minicon in favor of a cyber planet key with a minicon port on the other side. so that's 8 toys.

I always heard good things about Bendy Prime, so I bought the cybertron release. I gotta say, I almost took him back, but have held onto him despite not liking the mold.

Since then I've always figured people liked him so much because he was super articulated compared to the other bricks transformers in the armada line.

I probably would've liked him much better if he came with that minicon...
