Most clueless TF Reviewer...EVER!!

Recommended Posts

PS: Just out of curiosity - what are the differences in the two above? I mean I see the physical differences - ie, in the side panel paint difference; the headlight color; the side window; etc. I mean was it a difference in year release? Is one an JPN vs USA release?? What was the "PURPOSE" in it being changed and having 2 releases like that?? Just curious.

The one on the right is the Japanese release, which has chrome bits and a more "G1-like" deco.

while the review is lacking... i must confess.... the CLASSICS prime.. is horrible in comparison to it being a remake of a G1. The shielded tires.. gun on top.. hollow interior.. thunder thighs... and head showing are legitimate issues that it is NOT a remake of G1. By itself, it's a fine toy. If it's PURPOSE was to be a G1, it falls VERY short. I've never been much of a classic's fan - and this simply reinforced that thought. I have my original G1 prime, and MP prime is FAR more G1-like than the classic he reviewed.

The "gun on top" was a mistake by the reviewer. It unfolds into smoke stakes. It also comes with a top portion of the truck that hides the head. In short, it's MUCH better the the clown who made these reviews lets on.

And yeah, Classics wasn't meant to be a slavish G1 redo, it was suppose to be a re-imagining of classic characters. Classics Prime isn't a slavish reproduction of the G1 figure, it was a brand new design that homaged the G1 look while still being a great toy in its own right.

Classics Prime is, IMO, the best Prime toy available.

Thanks for the clarification. That definately makes a HUGE difference. WOW. That guy really did screw it up pretty bad.

No worries, glad I could help. If your not a Classics fan, or don't like Classics Prime, cool. I would just rather you not like him for what he is, not based on a review that was more painful to watch then 8 Crazy Nights.

As far as Classics go - as I said, i havn't been a fan. But I like your description of purpose - a line in their own right that pays homage, but is a brand new design. That goes a long way to evaluation. Because if that's trying to be G1 - it falls very short. As a prime in it's own right - it's actually not that bad at all. As far as 'best prime ever' -- well, different strokes for different folks - we all have different flavors and opinions. :) Personally I still think MP-01 prime is the best. After that the orginal G1. I could see this one being in the #3-#5 range those. It's not a bad prime at all. Thanks for the correction and giving me at least a little more appreciation for the classic line and their purpose.

No problemo, different strokes for different folks, as you said.

I think part of the Classics mindset is "what if these characters came out now?"

Personally I really hate when they do too many releases like that that don't seem to have any real purpose other than driving collectors crazy. (ie, here's a toy.. here's that toy with a new sticker; here's that toy with a new hubcap; here's that toy with a longer smokestack; here's that toy with different colored glass; here's that toy with.. AAAAHHHH!!!!!!!!)

Like trench said, the one on the right (in both pics) is the TakaraTomy version, while the one on the left is the Hasbro version.

This mould has gotten its fair share of releases (and recolours) though.

1) Hasbro's Classics Optimus Prime release (left).

2) TakaraTomy's Henkei! (Classics) release (right).

3) BotCon 08's Optimus Prime from the "Shattered Glass" universe where the Autobots are evil.

4) Hasbro's San Diego Comic Con Nemesis Prime, done in a black, teal, silver, and dark blue paint job. He also has Decepticon emblems.

5) TakaraTomy's exclusive black, teal, and red Prime. He's not Nemesis Prime though, just Optimus Prime in a "black" colour scheme. He has Autobot emblems.

Wow.

Yeah, I love the mould, but HasTakTomy needs to put it away for a while.

Yeah this HAS to be a joke!! No self respecting Transformer fan would have a Hannah Montana Poster in their room. >8(

:rofl says it ALL

Or a combiner comprised of Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus, Ashlee Simpson, Lindsay Lohan & Kelly Osbourne.

What would you call that particular combiner? Skankasor? :tfhuh

:tflaugh :tflaugh :tflaugh I found that quite hilarious, when he "accidentally" showed a Hannah Montana poster, that pretty much meant to me that the whole review wasn't taken seriously.

I've watched these Reviews yesterday and I still just don’t know exactly what to say???

After my two hours of amusement from watching over and over again and falling down laughing, I felt bad and just wanted to contact and help this poor guy.

I’ve just never seen anything go so wrong in all my life!!!

I mean the reviews were just so totally wrong and some eBayer forked him over so badly!!!

I just wanted to yell out Nooooo! Stop it goes that way or its right there can’t you see it!!!!

I just can’t even comment on all of the mistakes.

I think watching this review has made it harder for me to type and function properly somehow.
