Scat is worse than killin'?

In a PG-13 Movie yes.

IRL no.

I'm pretty sure I've seen tons of poo jokes in movies where nobody got killed. :shrug I'm chalking this one up to "P-C's personal preference."

Poo JOKE is one thing.

Heros Pooing onscreen is another.

The "sam's happy time" scene was just kinda dumb. Ok it just wasn't for me. But it was VERBAL, If the joke had been watching him fap in the bathroom, and spray sam's happy juice, it would have needed to be in a rated R setting. That's what those ratings are for, to make the audience aware of the content of the movie.

A sentient being choosing to degrade another like that is a pretty graphic thing to show.

Sure, if it's meant seriously. But context matters too. And this is a movie about giant toys robots from outer space. I really think you're overanalyzing it just a little.

I think in American culture any analyzing has become over analyzing.

(not meant as a dig, just an observation)

I just think that the level of analysis should correspond in some way to the depth of the material in question. I love sitting around and analyzing complex films, but this is Transformers. And it's a Michael Bay film. I really do think that any serious analysis of the movie is almost too much, because of those facts. Unless you're talking about stuff like "was the action good" or "how many beads of sweat did you spot on Megan Fox's cleavage".

what about a spit-take? is that offensive? it is fluid leaving the body...

"how many beads of sweat did you spot on Megan Fox's cleavage".

5-43 depending on the scene

Poo JOKE is one thing.

Heros Pooing onscreen is another.

In the Alvin & The Chipmunks movie, one character eats another character's poo on screen. Organic poo. From a kind of living being that your child could run across on a camping trip. Your child could run across it's poo. Result: Rated PG for some mild rude humor.

that was the scene that made me skip the movie

that was the scene that made me skip the movie

You know what's weird? The gag is in the movie, but it's different characters doing the poo eating in a different context from the trailer...they actually fully animated, rendered, and presumably recorded dialog for that joke twice.
