It's Been A Year!

Sorry then, I was thinking that your "wouldn't have done it" was including retrospect.

What I'm drawing a distinction between is personal preference and believing that it shouldn't have been in the movie at all. I would only say "it shouldn't have been in the movie at all" if the gag had fallen flat in the movie theater, which it didn't. So it clearly worked for some people, and therefore I'd say that it got the job done. I'm just accepting the validity of others' reactions.

LOL the concept that other people's opinions just might also be valid is not wide spread.

I don't think laughter is a gauge for appropriateness.

And we've made it now to the lowest form of debate: what is and isn't funny.

I'm getting this... and I also think I'm getting at the root of the issue.

I don't think laughter is a gauge for appropriateness.

It is for moments in films intended to be humorous.

Don't be all call-for-censorship-cause-I-was-offended-person, dude. It contrasts mightily with your normally antagonistic free speech style.

Kid's can tell the difference between cartoon's and real life.

I thought we were discussing the appropriateness of the choice to include the material as made by the film makers.

But don't let me undermine your overused tactic of shifting the focus of discussion to suit your position.

i'm sure kids can tell the difference between a robot peeing and a human peeing (just saying)

I'm not for censoring it. I just think on screen peeing on people is a joke for a Rated R movie.

So is someone ripping someone else in half, I guess.... but then there's the part where they're robots

Look, I'm all for Han Solo's right to gun down hundreds of Stormtroopers cuz they have masks on, but if 3P0 opens his aft plating and piddles oil on one of them that is a different level of offensiveness IMO.
