Kid's can tell the difference between cartoon's and real life.

I thought we were discussing the appropriateness of the choice to include the material as made by the film makers.

But don't let me undermine your overused tactic of shifting the focus of discussion to suit your position.

You're not seriously pulling the "video games make kids shoot people" logic out to attack this movie, are you?

Hell no. I just don't think Peeing on helpless people is funny, and I'd prefer that toy based movies not imply that it is.

Yay for them that they convinced the MPAA that it was "lubricant" but back in reality BB whipped it out and peed on a human prisoner onscreen. That's inappropriate.

You're usually spot on in criticizing the film, but come on. It's not Abu Ghraib. It's immature humor, but that's it.

It's not urine, Agent Simmons wasn't "helpless", and the target audience liked it. There's nothing wrong with that.

I just think that urinating on people on screen should be an automatic trip to Rated R. That's all.

I'm more worried about my kids copying the fatality Optimus Prime used on Bonecrusher...

Not sending him to school with a sword should clear that right up.

Ok, I think I'm done with this topic...

Need a Hanky?

Why the angst? We're just talking here. Anyway I'm sorry if you thought I was maliciously "shifting the focus of discussion," I was just talking about what I thought *was* the issue. But if you're just talking about the decision to put that in the movie to begin with... I dunno, I wouldn't have done it, but I don't really care that much that they did. It didn't bother me -- again, because I saw audience members responding positively to it.

FYI you're pushing it with that.

Ok, that's more like what I was getting at. Now we may still disagree about how the rating body should have reacted, but that was my point. It was poor judgment.

I disagree with that point, though. Like I said, the audience responded positively to it, so I can't say that it didn't work as a gag, even though it didn't make me laugh. There's a difference between "I wouldn't have done it" and "I don't think it should have been done."

Sorry then, I was thinking that your "wouldn't have done it" was including retrospect.

I think somewhere, once upon a time, a car peed on Prime-Collector.

Sorry then, I was thinking that your "wouldn't have done it" was including retrospect.

What I'm drawing a distinction between is personal preference and believing that it shouldn't have been in the movie at all. I would only say "it shouldn't have been in the movie at all" if the gag had fallen flat in the movie theater, which it didn't. So it clearly worked for some people, and therefore I'd say that it got the job done. I'm just accepting the validity of others' reactions.

I don't think laughter is a gauge for appropriateness.
