Transformers: Animated Figures Roll Out Today

Recommended Posts

LOL... yeah... like someone else mentioned the show's been running for a while and they're just getting around to putting these out. And they can't even squeeze in ads for them between Polly Pocket and Bratz doll commercials. What happened to the days when they used to advertise the hell out of Transformers toys? I remember watching TF and GI joe as a kid and they'd run commercials of both unmercifully.. and they'd run the ads for the Joe comic books as well, which would usually be a precursor to the coming toys...

I'm pleased to say that one of the local Wal-Marts has almost made the complete switch to Animated.

The movie banner was replaced with an Animated banner, and the vast majority of figures were wave 1 & 2 Deluxes and wave 1 Voyagers.

I only saw four remaining Movie figures; a Deluxe Payload, a Leader Brawl, and two Ultimate Bumblebees.

:khaaan CANADAAAAAA!!!!!!

Wow, I haven't seen an Ultimate 'Bee around here since well before Xmas...

Yes? :tfgrin To be truthful, they haven't aired the :animated commercials up here, either. It breaks my heart to see Movie Leader Brawl keeping the Leader class portions of the shelves nice and toasty for the :animated Leaders... Not so much for UB (Ultimate Bumblebee) for SROC Optimus Prime (Supreme Roll Out Command Optimus Prime. Try saying that three times fast)... But in my local Walmart, there are more Animated figures than Movie figures! I have a very small list of Movie figures I still need, but bring on Animated! (and Universe/Classics 2.0) :tfgrin

Unfortunatly they're still warming shelf space around here. Stupid paperweight....

Adding to the Canada angst, I just spotted Voyager Primes at both the local comic store and Wal-Mart.

Also, they did air an Animated toy commercial during "A Bridge Too Close."

They need to bring back the green-eyed "More Then Meets the Eye" kid.

Where I live (Nova Scotia, Canada) I go to two stores (Zellers and Toys R Us *Yes there's one near where I live, I'm so lucky*) and they both have movie toys still out. Zellers doesn't even have any Animated figures out at all!

LOL, I gave up on Zellers months ago. They were suppose to have the exclusive rights to the Premium movie figures in Canada, and for the past two months they've had nothing but Payloads, Overcasts, and wave 1 Real Gears. Oh and one Scout Hardtop. That bugger mocked me for weeks.

Zellers= :fail

But I only look there. I shop at TRU, that have movie toys, but at least the have Animated figures out. And what I saw was this: A Crapload of Voyager Megatrons, Starscreams and Bulkheads along with quite a bit of deluxes. And get this, they were sharing space with he movie toys. I'm pretty sure that the selection was at least five pegs long for both. Plus there was no Star Wars toys and the movie basics were in a bin! What do you think of that?

Yeah, the local TRU in London ON has a decent selection of Animated figures, and has since late April. It's still just about 10% of their TF stock though. Movie Deluxe shelf warmers, Scouts, Real Gears, TransTech (I hate that stuff so much), and a few Leader Brawls still dominate the other 90%.

The good news is that they've finally cleared out the movie Voyagers. Only Animated Voyagers to be found.

The two local Wal-Marts, however, have about five Animated Deluxes and four Voyagers in total, hidden amongst the pre-mentioned movie clog.

So for my fellow Canucks, check out TRU if you want Animated figures. It seems they're your best bet.

You're right. When I last looked there. They also had barely any of the 2008 Bionicle figures too. Zellers sucks when it comes to toys.

I think Nortagem owns that kid now
