BIACS fanchar WIP

Recommended Posts

Ok, guys, some of you know i've been working on this forever! By working, i mean desigining, and imagining...i haven't actually DONE anything yet. other than some digibashes.... at any rate, here are some mock up pics, along with the digibashes for my fanchar BIACS (Bull In A China Shop). He is a garbage truck, and i hope to have him done before Animated Wreck-Gar comes out, so that he can be the first Garbage Truck Transformer. WOOT! :)

Anyway, he's going to be made from RID Prime, RID Ultra Magnus's legs, Cyb Prime's backpack, and E-Landmine's brute mode stuff. I was struggling with where everything would end up in vehicle mode - would E-LM's brute arms stay fixed on RID Prime's forearms, to stick out the back of Cyb Prime's backpack? in this mode, they'd represent the compactor.

The more i toyed with it, the more i realized it might not work. I originally had no plans for E-LM's backpack, just the stuff to strap onto the arms. but I pulled it down off the shelf, and tried to get it to lay right on the back of Cyb Prime's backpack, and here are the pre-alteration results:

here's a mockup of both vehicle modes and robot modes. Not sure yet where i'm going to stash E-Landmine's brute backpack on this monstrosity of a robot mode :)

I'm probably going to ditch Cyb Prime's cannon stuff unless I can find a way for them to fit. Most likely though, they'll be gone. I'm going to dremel a hole into the cyb prime trailer so that the UM legs can peg in. I'll probably fashion some peg hole combo to help the landmine backpack connect too... but I'm not sure yet how i'll connect the RID Prime body. I'm also going to add panels of styrene to close off the holes in the UM trailer bits. Here's a mockup of his head:

Any thoughts? Suggestions?

The head mockup is pretty neat.

Are you going to be keeping the cannons from Cyb. Prime's backpack? I'd either ditch 'em, or redo them to work with the flow. As they are, they just stick-up. Maybe they could be adapted to be something similar that picks up the trash-cans?

Either way, cannons aside, the vehicle base is looking like it's off to a nice start.

I look forward to see how this goes!

Thanks! As for the cannons, that was to get them out of the way. I'm gonna get rid of em. But your idea about the trash can pickup thing would be cool. i wonder how i'd do it...any ideas?

maybe i could put things in there that would be more prehensile, with grabby things to reach around and stuff garbage in his compactor.

Then again, he already will have large grabby claws in bot mode, will he need a 2nd set?

any parts off hand you can think of that are similar in size, but plenty jointed up to be able to reach around to the back?

Actually, I can think of something that'd work for trash-can pickerupper claws. We're discussing them over in this topic. Parts from the Neo-Shifters toyline. The larger ($10, I think) scale figures have hands and feet that would fit well with the grabber bits, and have a decent amount of articulation pieces.

As for the auxiliary grabbers, I could see a use for 'em. They could be used to pick up smaller bits n'pieces (i.e. Minicons) that the larger grabbers might damage?

Hmm...that sounds very promising. Is there some sort of catch-all info site about neoshifters? that i could see the different ones, maybe point out a part that would be good for my project?

Thanks again for your input.

No problems. :thumb

Here's three sources I can link to, two of which are actually here, that might be able to help out some. Leader Class Torca is a Kitbash project someone is working on right now, using Neo-Shifters as a base.

Mega Blocks NEOSHIFTERS is a discussion started by Hellscream333.

and finally, is the official site.

What I'm picturing, in place of the cannon, is either the arms/legs w/the hands.

Hope this helps!

Rotate the cannon forward and put em at an angle, this guy COULD be a WarWithin MEGA OCTANE

Wow, that might be perfect!! (now i have to go out and find some)

Thanks!!

Now i'll just have to figure out how to attach them, and how much of the cannon to lop off, if not all of it.

I'm new to kitbashing so i'm pretty green :)

Looks pretty cool so far.

Landmine's claws immediately struck me as being where the trash collectors would dump residential trash (curbside pickup or whatever), then it would raise up or flip forward to dump it into the truck.

As an aside: that Leader Class Torca would be mine, and I have no idea how I'm gonna actually accomplish it yet; I'm just making it up as I go, but I guess that's how most of my projects usually go, so.. :P

yeah that's kind of the idea. i'm just wondering if when i lop off the cannons, i'm missing an opportunity to put SOMETHING there. or if this is a case of less is more.
