I didn't realize last year that you could buy the toys without going to Botcon so I thought I would buy the set this year, but that's one ugly Prime. I would have preferred more black but not so much that he looked like Nemesis Prime. If the purple was more of a highlight he'd look much better.

Well, of course that would be the ideal, if only to not have to wade through all the posts bitching about it. But that's not what the question was. If we're talking about Seekers available as is, or not at all, wishing away what makes your fellow fans happy so you feel better is selfish and petty.

theyve already repainted the classics do death. another version of this prime should be below the standards of a $700 set. things like this would be questionable for a non exclusive "universe" release. and yet they expect people to drop hundreds of dollars on this?

 

chances are there will be one really awsome figure in the set. not to make it worth spending all that money, but enough to make everyone go "awwwwwww".

Question: When Botcon Ironhide and Ratchet came out, was there this much complaining?

Not that I can remember. I only remember people complaining about the price.

 

Personally I thought the Seekers set came about since Hasbro originally had no plans to continue Classics. So Botcon tried to at least give us the figures. I never really understand the appeal of the seekers though. It's one of the few times in when the fandom actually encourages Hasbro to do repaints. Makes no sense to me, considering the amount of complaining people do about repaints.

 

 

SG Prime looks ok. I'm not a big fan of battle damage though so that knocks him down a few notches.

I like the paint detailing. The only bit I think is a bit tacky is the cracked windshield.

Prime has cracked glass. Punch out the windows if you want the shattered glass. :P

That's because Adobe Flash also had an update. My BotCon screen works fine, but that's because I updated Flash as well.

the energon towline mold was perfect for a g1 ironhide and ratchet. it could fit perfectly into the classics line and i bet no one would complain that it's a repaint.

 

i also thought we'd get another repaint using towline as a general release but so far i haven't heard blot.
