Not just Classics. Cyb. Crosswise is shown to the right of Optimus in the "Shattered Glass" teaser artwork.

 

Anyways, is it me, or does the purple and greenish-gold colors supposed to make him a bit Toxitron like?

It's not a hideous color scheme. Granted, it's not the best scheme around but they had to do something other than a Nemesis Prime/Scourge repaint for Optimus in this set, otherwise people would be Starscreaming that he looks too much like those evil Primes.

 

I'll await judgment on this set for now, with only one figure preview it's not enough to really say this is crap. Hopefully they've done a better job with the rest.

I'm actually impressed...I really like this evil repaint of Prime. Too bad I'll never be able to own one! I'd still love to see more, though. At least I can look and dream.....

Anyway, it's an interesting choice. Not bad by any means, but not OMFG I MUST OWN DAMN U HASBRO!!!!!!!!!!111oneoneeleven like last year's Seeker set was. Which is nice to see.

I'm looking forward to more pics.

 

PS- I prefer the Nemesis Prime/Scourge colour scheme, but it's understandable why they went a different route.

 

I figured Autobot colors would stay with the Autobot, and vice-versa. So silver/black semi, and red/blue gun.

Ah, but Megatron as Semi is the Autobot now...I think...how's this work again?

Botcon exclusives are meh to me. Never been to one, likely never will. However I will r4pe with a chilly dipped cactus the Hasbro exec who forever fvcked up my classics seeker collection. Cos like we can all afford to spend the price of a cheap car on what should be a £10 bloody deluxe. Fvckers.

I'm totally relieved. I have little to no desire for the figure. I seriously would think twice about it if I found it at a ToysRUs. The damage apps are pretty neat, but the color scheme is just blah, way too predictable. Generic Decepticon purple and black are pretty unimaginative. Plus, the purple looks more like pink to me, which looks, well, like he's Arcee! I think mostly black, with quite a bit of silver and some red here and there, like G1 Megatron, would have been a better looking toy. I'm glad this is the kind of exclusive they are doing though; it's pretty "niche". Unlike, say, CLASSICS SEEKERS.

this is why i'm glad Botcon exclusives are always repaints. i'm not spending even $100.00 on a set. i could buy a nice gundam or an expansion on my HO train layout with that kinda money instead
