um...why is Optimus Prime purple?

He's clearly meant to represent the Allspark messageboard.

:rofl

You haven't made me laugh in a looong time dude. :tflaugh

i might pay as much as $20 or $25 for it... but that is only because i love the original mould

I'm totally relieved. I have little to no desire for the figure. I seriously would think twice about it if I found it at a ToysRUs. The damage apps are pretty neat, but the color scheme is just blah, way too predictable. Generic Decepticon purple and black are pretty unimaginative. Plus, the purple looks more like pink to me, which looks, well, like he's Arcee! I think mostly black, with quite a bit of silver and some red here and there, like G1 Megatron, would have been a better looking toy. I'm glad this is the kind of exclusive they are doing though; it's pretty "niche". Unlike, say, CLASSICS SEEKERS.:(

next year... transgender optimus prime...

I dont really find any botCON figures to be worth their price, mainly due to poor production (figs with two left hands etc), high prices etc.

However this set, although not for me is the way forward. BOTCON figs should be alternative takes on figs we already have. Granted, last years seekers were, technically figs we could buy at any retail shop BUT they made the mistake of releasing "common garden" TFs, or staple tfs as exclusives, which many of us here were very vocal about.

At least this year we have a more "icing on the cake" offering. If we dont like them, noone is going to get angry about them and they also appeal to die-hard fans who treat TFs like pokemon.

Please keep your exclusives "exclusive" BOTCON and please NEVER bring out "retail" bots as "exclusives" again.

If the Autobots end up with Taches (ALA: Every sodding Evil alt reality Star Trek dude ever, pretty much) I'll laugh my ass off.

True evil wears a goatee.

... and who the hell says "tache"? That's just stupid.

this is kinda what i was thinking he was going to be like http://pcwr.kt.fc2.com/top10/log168.htm all diaclone like

That´s not his/magnus' diaclone scheme, that's Nemesis Prime from the G1 comics. (which would make it an even more logical color scheme for him)

Also... we're getting the Crosswise mold for Jazz? Major ew. I hate that mold.

And... that is intended to be the Diaclone Magnus colors, hence the name. Not sure if he had a red head, though...

Please keep your exclusives "exclusive" BOTCON and please NEVER bring out "retail" bots as "exclusives" again.

Did someone say Classic (Botcon) Seekers?

Urge.... to kill..... rising..... :grr

To avoid any possibility of being involved in a potential flame war, all I will say is that :pfx with Primal Convoy's post above.

As for the new Botcon set so far?

:bored

To be honest... I somewhat expected a MP Thundercracker to be announced for one of this year's exclusives.

*runs away*

Question: When Botcon Ironhide and Ratchet came out, was there this much complaining?

Question: When Botcon Ironhide and Ratchet came out, was there this much complaining?

Somewhat...... but the main difference is that in the Classics Seekers situation, the first three were released in retail, and the rest were released as (hella) expensive exclusives - hence, restricting the chance to get a complete set of seekers for regular fans.

With the Ironhide and Ratchet, they were nice figures, but were almost considered "stand alone" - just like the TFCC Sunstreaker and Sideswipe set.
