I had no trouble watching Armada, so obviously you're either a liar or your opinion is wrong. G1 is a pile of crap from the 80's that most kid's don't know about, and I'm glad, or they'd probably hate Transformers if they knew how crapty it was in the 80's. Alright Junior, then explain to my old ass WHY Armada is better. Is the grass-growth pacing more your speed? Do you enjoy watching poorly drawn, dim-witted children stare at one another silently and pointlessly? Is hand-holding, sissified slapping matches and still pictures with lights flashing back and forth what you want in action sequences? Is dialogue written by, and for, simpletons what you're after (and don't give me that 'It's a kid's show' crap - Gargoyles, JL, TMNT, Spiderman, Batman, SpongeBob, etc are kid's shows)? Is Prime better as a eunich? Is Leader-One that great of a name that multiple characters should have it? Do you enjoy Transformers shows where the Transformers are the supporting cast and the annoying children are the stars? Did you see Carlos and want to be his friend? Do you like to claim to see a large storyarc, which upon closer inspection is just an inferior, yet blatant, rehashing of a 20 year old show?

 

Look, perhaps I am too old for this, and yes, the term 'unwatchable' is an exageration (which everyone else seems to have gotten, but given your affinity for Armada I suppose I shouldn't be surprised by your inability to grasp that), but that doesn't change the fact that Armada is a truly horrible show. G1 is dated, had its mistakes (which, unlike Armada, were due to unbelievably tight time issues and the need to come up with ORIGINAL material), but it was groundbreaking, exciting, and spawned something that is alive twenty years later. In 2020, if some cable network runs a show "I Love The Aughts", I guarantee you that there will be no mention of Armada (unless the G1-BASED movie in 2006 is highlighted and a guest comedian jokes about how bad the cartoon that preceeded it by 3 years was). Armada will thankfully be forgotten.

 

Now, you liking Armada is fine. God bless. I just saw the utterly ridiculous claim in the title that it was "better than G1" and listed a few of the many reasons why that claim is ridiculous. But you go right on ahead and keep thinking that Armada is 'wicked cool'.

Indeed, I like Armada better than G1 but G1 is ok from time to time and at the same time, Armada was really bad.

 

Both had their highs and lows but I think Armadas highs were higher than G1's and I think their lows are about even. Once again, the Movie doesnt count.

 

The movie is pertty much on par with Energon and Beastwars but it has that crappy character Hotrod in it. :P

g1 had one kid, daniel, and that was only in the episodes after the movie when g1 was winding down. he didn't have nearly as big a part as rad, carlos, alexis and bulk and skull...er...i mean billy and fred. spike was a young man not a kid as some people seem to be mistaking.

 

like i've said before g1 wasn't perfect, it had it's share of stinkers but there are plenty of episodes that did a better job telling a complete story in 30 minutes than armada did over it's entire run. best of all i didn't have to watch 50+ episodes to see it all. i don't have a problem with the ongoing epic type storytelling so long as it's intelligently written and executed. shows like bm, r.i.d. and armada all left A LOT to be desired. the jury is still out on energon but so far i'd have to say it's better than the others. now thats just how I feel.

 

rather than sitting around and picking on one cartoon or the other i try to find the good parts in all of them and be mature and respectful to others when voicing my opinions. if you don't like a particular show or shows thats fine, nothing will change it but thats no need to get insulting towards those that do.

 

i am a g1 fan first but i don't like seeing other g1 fans bashing on other shows or people for liking them, and i don't like seeing people bash g1 and g1 fans just because some other g1 fans were mean to them...ahem..that means you bodycount! i've never said anything bad to you or about your favorite shows and figures. so when you make broad generalizations about all g1 fans i take it personally whether you mean it toward me or not.

 

everyone on this site is here for one reason...we're ALL transformers fans and thats the only thing that should matter.

G1 is tops in my book. The one that started 20 years of entertainment.....the one that started it all..... :thumb
