G1 vs. Armada

Recommended Posts

I don't care why anyone likes G1 better...

Galvatron died in the last episode. Starscream was blown to bits by Unicron. Smokescreen was melted by the requiem blaster, Sideways was shot through the torso.

These all DO count because the violent scenery was very intact, despite the character's link to Unicron, or their ressurection in a later series.

After the G1 Movie, about 80% of the S1 & S2 characters were dead AND they never returned (except for Optimus)

Wheeljack (reterned in Victory)

Starscream(as a ghost as Waspinator and by Unicron)

Megatron(as Galvatron)

Skywarp(as Cyclonis and Universe Skywarp)

Thundercracker(as Scourge)

Sideswipe(off screne death but was revieved with E-Hobby stickers)

Redalert(off screne death but was revieved with E-Hobby stickers)

and the numeris mistakes in season 3 could be resurections

but on the other hand the jap G1 series were littered with death.

Well, there's your 20% of characters who didn't "die". As far as G1 Scourge, Cyclonus and the Sweeps, they seemed to have no memory of who they were before, as their bodies seemed to be only raw material for Unicron's minions.

Sideswipe-I didn't think he died. Just disappeared.

Wheeljack-That was in the Japanese continuity when they hadn't gotten the movie yet. There were many season 1 & 2 TF's in the post-US series who were supposed to be dead.

But they're not dead, as they return. Death means no return to the living. Let's not confuse a violent battle or major damage with death. This has nothing to do with G1, just with what death is considered. If a character is fatally wounded but saved by reformatting AND keeps all of his prior memories, then technically they survived and never DIED. No death for them. Reincarnation can be considered death, as they would not remember their previous life. According to that, then in Armada Starscream really did die. Ah, death in Transformerland. It's a tricky thing. :tfgrin

So, the bottom line is:

Optimus Prime: Yawn. You knew he was going to return.

Smokescreen: Violent? Yes. Death? No.

Galvatron: ditto.

Starscream: Dies.

Thrust: Dies.

Sideways: I'll give you that one.

I like armada because it had some cool figures, including supercon prime, but if we talk about th show, well then G1, besides i hate minicons, they suck.

Who cares...There's so much more to life.

Then whats the point of chatting on these boards at all or better yet if there are better things to do in life, why even post about it in a thread that has nothing to do about better things to do then Transformers.

The hippie boards are across the street, your in the wrong place

no one can tell me armada is good it is how you say...ga...stupid the toys were like tonka toys.

besides if you payed attention to beast wars starscream has an indestructable spark. thats what they tryed to duplicate and put in rampage, so starscream never dies mwuuhahahahahahahahah

Sideswipe ans Redalert presumably got killed by Devistator(unused storybords on DVD) and there E-Hobby techspecs clearly mentioned that they died.

The Movie is part of japans continuitse

It seems some of you are hooked on the death of Tranformers. Like it's some measuring stick to greatness. If you want "death" go read the G1 comics.

As far as what series is better, we all have our likes and dislikes. Which is fine. No need for any name calling or anger. We are all Tranformers fans in the end.

Optimus Prime absorbed a powerful blast that woulda exploded the earth using his body AND the matrix..it was powerful and dramatic..he was burnt to ashes and expoloded into space dust...that's death, I don't care if he comes back.
