this was so easy it makes me sick!!!!

just used some lego antennas the long clear kind, a regular cordless screwdriver, and a hot glue gun( $2 at wal-mart, dont think it's breaking the bank)

anyway, i wanted to give my classics nemi-prime a bit more style, i still have to color it, but after the guns will have dual blasts, and then the convert to flamin' smokestacks!

Those flamin' stacks are gonna look really slick. Do they detach? Will his big gun be getting one? It should be simple to make it removable, since the barrel already has a hollow in it.

this is an awesome tutorial. I want to implement this onto some flames of some sort, and add something else... imagine adding this onto a LED of some sort.... the blast or flame would completely illuminate.

Agreed. LEDs would work perfectly with this effect!

yeah, I vote sticky too.

Grazie!

boom! here's the finished Flames. i might do a blast for the windvane gun, but i just wanted to try this out for now

You need a bit of yellow in those flames. Would make em look more realistic.

I'm seein' this make a wild ghost rider too on a skeletor head...

Was thinkin' of using this idea over the wire/glow paint reaver on my SR Raziel figure, but then realized that there's always a chance of the hot glue falling where I wouldn't want it to (the sword is pseudo-permanently mounted around his shoulder via the wire...), and then it might pull off his metallic blue skin tone...

and that would be.... bad.

But for this type of effect, (or maybe an ectoblaster...), this idea rocks...

Count me in for a vote for a sticky, maybe in a tutorials section?

I got a bunch of stuff over the weekend to mess around with some stuff and I tried this. Problem is, I'm not exactly sure which paint looks best.

Any suggestions about what paint and where to find it would be helpful. I was at a few craft stores and I didn't see anything other than regular yellows and reds. I like that clear color, what is that and where do I find it?

well i used testors spraypaint. I find it at local craft stores in the model kit aisle, (Michael's/ Pat Catan's). its usually a colored gloss, or a transparent variety. I just found trans. orange today. yay. and i am also developing a new way to make beam weapon blades. i hope it works. I hope more people post their "flames" on here. i know i will.

Sticky tut. vote here!!!!

I used Tamiya Color Acrylic Paint Clear Orange and Clear Yellow (X-26 and X-24 respectively). I still need to go pick up some red and purple, if I can find it. I got mine at a small, non-chain hobby shop, and I've never seen the Tamiya Colors at big art stores. I don't like ordering paint online, but if you're stuck, that might be the way to go.

Good luck.
