Movie Adventure sets Bumblebee and Skorpinok ...

Recommended Posts

Just finished posing my new Screen Battles Bumblebee and I have to say it's worth it. The new paint makes him look great.

Joints are nice and tight...maybe too tight. There were a few times during transformation where I had to stop and make sure I had everything lined up right 'cause it felt like I was forcing it. The metal pins that hold the front wheels secure don't have as wide a head as the original, so they tend to wobble.

Oh, well. Guess I'll keep Screen Battles 'Bee in robot mode and Original in vehicle...FOREVER!

LMAO! You might be sir, the laziest fan evah! Congrats! ^_^

Not as lazy as some Power Rangers fans I see, who own three of each Megazord to show all the different combinations at the same time.

But no, I fiddled with him a little more and managed to get everything to fall into place. Super-tight joints still freak me out, though, but I'd rather they be tight than loose...

Heh...

I don't see how the sliding helmet would be any more difficult as say the Beast Wars battle helmets. There may be a bit of tooling invilved and you'd have to subtract the light piping but I think it's pretty possible. There's a few Iron Man figures with the mask being able to be pressed on AND it holds. Maybe I'm being too much of a perfectionist? ^_^

The Beast Wars battle helmets invariably looked like ass. And all the removable ones (as opposed to the alternate head versions) vere incredibly conspicuous and ugly when not in use.

I got all 4 sets, I dig 'em. It might be the first time ever than I let the stuff stay MISB. You're paying for better decos, little human figures AND nicer packaging. Well worth it imo.

Eh. Better packaging means nothing to me. Seriously. Absolutely nothing. And better decos are relative. Scorponok's changes are minor at best; Barricade's are non-existent at best, bad at worst (removing play value from a toy is a no-no). Bumblebee and Longarm are arguably better decos, but to be honest I like ordinary Bumblebee better than gray and yellow Bumblebee. Less screen accurate, yes, but better looking.

The little human figures are NOT worth doubling the price to me.

I saw them in the store today, but passed on BB what with the premium series one coming down the pipe...

"movie accurate" coloring + battle helmet > "movie accurate" coloring + little people...

Also 20 dollars is 10 dollars too many...lol.

I think it's rather obvious that these are geared toward tickling the buying bone of the collectors more than anything.

On the question on whether they are worth it or not, I guess it's just up to you. If you must open everything then probably not, but if you are a MISB or at least keep some stuff MISB then they're not bad to get. Would have been nicer if they were $5 cheaper, but hey, maybe we'll get a sale eventually that will knock it down to around that.

To me, they just physically immortalize certain moments of the movie, though not perfectly accurate but well enough. There is a bit of a neat factor to them just keeping them MISB. I have all the figs open already so that's no biggie.

I did open my capture of BB set, and I'll probably get one more to keep MISB. But that's all I'll probably open unless I get some on clearance. Hopefully I'll get one of each, but if I don't I'll at least have the ones I really wanted (the 2 with BB).

I swear on all that is holy, I saw the "Screen Battles" series listed on the Hasbro website, and the list retail price was 14.99. I can't seem to find them now, so I suspect they may have been removed, but I remember seeing the Capture of Bumblebee set and thinking "I'd pay 15$ for that, but not 20$."

And I would pay 14.99, but 20$? Too much. I'd rather buy two deluxes instead of one and some crappy toy soldiers, grey Bumblebee redeco or no.

And I stand by my earlier statement in another thread -- look for the Scorponok set to grace the aisles of Big Lots in about 6 months. :P

Some of you guys are soooooooooooooooo cheap, it's not even funny. ;) I bet you end up spending twice the difference you refuse to pay on some other crap.
