TFans' Official 'Transformers Movie' Thread

I'm pretty sure Soundwave has been confirmed as a helicopter.

A stealth helicopter could be seriously cool. :schin

As for the colors, the Decepticons have indeed little reason to hide. To them we are primitive little savages who can do them little. So why hide?

I'm guessing that in the movie the Transformers won't be made out of Invincabilium or adamantium, so human weapons can do damage to the Decepticons - maybe not an M-16 but something like an anti-tank round.

Otherwise, there's really no need to be in disguise at all.

The movie will probably be hit or miss.

A lot of popular franchises have been killed by bad movies. At least Uwe Boll is not directing.  :tftongue

Still, that is not saying much seeing Ang Lee did get an Acadamey Award while butchering the Hulk. The movie could have been great, sadly it was not.

I think the movie should stick with G1 based designs like the Alternators. Megatron (if he cannot be a gun, should be a tank) and Soundwave should either be some kind of music device/computer or if that is not possible a stealth bomber.

The Autobots would have to hide as the humans (in their infinite stupidity) do not see the distinction between Autobot and Decepticon.

Personally I would love to see a movie where they show the consequenses of the war but I highly doubt they would do that. Megatron crushing a helpless human in his hand untill he goes "splat" would be  :clap  in my book but I think Hasbro may have a problem with that.

They could always make 2 versions. One for kids and one for adults.  :tflaugh

i agree fully.  personaly i think we care too much about violent media, hell when i was growing up we had some of the most violent television ever, spike said Blot for Powerglide's sake, now parents go off the deep end when any cartoon character says dang and weilds any type of weapon.  one only has to look so far as how bad cartoon network butchers they're anime shows just to make them appeal to parents concerns such as naruto, person i don't like naruto, but there are scenes that where the animation was completly changed just to tone down violence.  parents no longer want to parent their children and rely on corporations to do the parenting for them.  it's realy a sad state, but hopefully they'll be a director's cut release of the movie on dvd for the older fans.

I reckon Soundwave should stay as is, a tapedeck... who cares if it is out dated, hes an awesome character the way he is.

You fool!  Don't say stuff like that.  The "logic-bitchers" might hear you.  Such ideas are considered evil today, even though there really is no modern counterpart for Soundwave that would make as much sense as the tape deck and cassettes.

And, just to hold off the "logic-bitchers", let me say that I mean that there is no, non-vehicular, modern alternative for Soundwave.

For a while I've thought that a really appropriate alt mode for Soundwave would be a cell phone tower and an adjoining power junction box. The junction box would become the chest, the front would open up like the G1 toy, arms would flip out like a Smokescreen Alternator, and the tower would collapse like an antanae(spelling) from a real life boom box - in other words "telescoping" - the tower would then split in half and fold under the junction box to become the legs . . . and there'll be some feet in there somewhere. It wouldl fit right in with his MTMTE Cybertronian alt mode, but it wouldn't have a lot of play value, unless it came with cool electronic accesories and stuff.

I think it's imaginitive, anyways.

Oh, come on.  That's just silly.  I know that cell phone towers are all over the place, but there is a plan to their placement.  You can't just have Soundwave transform into a cell tower anywhere he wants to.

Also, one of the dumbest things that I, as a G1 fan, can never defend, is Soundwave's stupid Cybertronian alt-mode.  It never made any sense.

What was his alt. mode on Cybertron again Mike Prime?

A street lamp, a bulky looking Cybetronian street lamp, but a street lamp all the same.

Ugh, I prefer the War Within version, where he was effectively a tank with a small launch bay in its turret for Laserbeak, et al.
