Animated Concerns

Prime Collector, you've managed to persaude me. Animated will be an exciting addition to my collection and there's absolutely nothing wrong with adding a new aesthetic to the collection. After all, the contrasts are what make the colours shine.

TMan, yes I do have movie figures. I have nearly all the movie characters plus one or two others. As I said in my first post, I'm not saying Animated looks like crap. I'm actually kinda offended people are saying my concerns are pointless. I thought we all collected for similar reasons, that regardless of nostalgia value we liked the ways the toys look. If we didn't we could just as easily collect sticks because we played with those when we were kids. That's what I was trying to discuss, and I opened the discussion with a question. I'm sorry you didn't like it.

People sure are talking a lot of Blot for a cartoon no one's actually seen yet.

Either they're ignorants, or attention-seekers. :redface

Next time try actually reading the OP.

Z. Rodimus just wanted to discuss the design choices in the animated toys, which we have seen a great deal of.

i have this thing where if I'm going to be collecting I have to get the whole set. even if some of the toys are crappy. CURSE YOU EVIL REPAINTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've discovered a possible cure for that, Marriage.

This what I'm saying. If you like the way they look and you want them, What the deal man? Just buy em. Who cares what they look like next to other figures.

I'm just saying I dont worry about all that stuff. I have a diplay case right now with Alt Nemesis Prime, Ravage, Rumble and MP Starcream on top shelf, GIJoes on the next, Autobot Alts next and them random pile of toys on the last.

Interesting course of treatment doctor. However there are some who manage to continue to sneak them in right under their spouse's nose. :tflaugh

Serious note though I personally try to get figs that best personify my fav G1 characters. I know I'm gonna get G1 hater bashed for that but hey who cares it's what I like. Granted some of the beast figs from BW, BM, RiD, and Cyb were pretty cool but I just never really got into it. There are only a hand full of beast TFs I ever really like and those were the mecha beasts from G1 ie. Dinobots, Insecticons, G1 Predacons. I do like how the BW TMs, BMs and Cyb beasts had the mechanical parts in beast mode more realistic to the idea of a transforming animal I think.

Anyway back on topic get a 5 shelf bookcase and separate the gigs out by line fighting each other if possible. I had planned on doing this with mine but I have way too many Alts 3 shelves worth, and with the repaints, and kitbashes to try and update as many G1 characters into more modern looks in the Classics style the top 2 shelves are devoted to each faction the top being Cl/ G1 Autobots including Optimus, Magnus still no armor yet, Skyfire, custom Superion, G1 Blaster w/ Steeljaw, Hotrod, BB, Cyb Blurr, Grimlock, Mirage, CJ, Wreckgar (Ransack repaint),Cyb Smokescreen w/ resculpted head, Seaspray (repaint of Cyb Shortround), Beachcomber (repaint of Cyb Swindle),Huffer (repaint of Armorhide *I had mine months before Botcon's was announced :tftongue ), Pipes (head resculpted Cyb Armorhide), Windcharger (Cyb Swerve), and as soon as I can figure out how to fit him in there Movie Jazz's G1 repaint. Decepticon shelf is kind of empty comparatively Megs, Starscream, Skywarp, CE Soundwave, custom Bruticus, custom Devastator, custom Stormbringer style Bludgeon, Ko Reflector G1 repainted, Ramjet, E Insecticon soon to be repainted into Bombshell, custom Headmaster Scorponok and Astrotrain. And these are all in our bedroom :tfevil

I'm going to have to figure something else out soon since I'm working on 4 combiner kitbashes (Computron, Predaking, Defensor, and Menasor), and possibly 3 city/base formers out of Cyb Metroplex (Omega Supreme, Fort Max, and a more G1 Metroplex). Might have to move some to my project shelf or into boxes ((really don't want to)...Hey hon where'd that box of real car TFs that I put up in the attic go? Ebay. :tfsad ) JK she probably wouldn't do that I just really want to keep them on display though.
