wait what!? Hot Shot is Rodimus?

If so... that's just plain wrong. Rodimus is the reconstruction of G1 Rodimus Prime. That's all. Silly Energon writers...

I was saying that I thought Hotshot, story wise, was going to be turned into Rodimus because of his character. Since history is repeating itself lately with the homages.

and it depends if you are going off of the cartoon or the comic, cause the rodimus character is completely different in each

I was talking about how Hotshot just like Hotrod and Cheetor were young Autobots quick to act and always trying to be the hero. And on the show they were always saying that Hotshot had the potential to be a great leader in the future. Then during the unicron battles Hotshot gained Hotrod's color scheme and flame design. That made me think that they would try to make his character evolve the same way Hotrod's did in the movie. While I already had that feeling next I saw pics of the new Rodimus and I just knew it was Hotshot but I was wrong. I just wanted to know if anyone else had the same asumption that I did.

I think Hasbro is doing the homages because there are a number of people who would prefer G1 redone, but since that really isn't feasible, homages are done as a compromise. Remember, most of the kids and to a degree parents buying TFs have no real familiarity with the figures, so this is all new to them.

G1 had great concepts and character designs, and it would be foolish not to reuse them for a new Generation of fans to enjoy.

This is basically it. All of those homages are aimed as us. Not at the main target audience. The 7,8, and 9 year olds who are the majority of the market don't know or care about G1. They look at Shockblast and see a cool tank with a huge gun arm, not Shockwave.

G1 isn't coming back as a main line franchise, and we need to move on.

hot shot isnt rodimus

Rodimus is Hot Shot's former leader

Rodimus was Hot Shot's idol, back on Cybertron.

Rodimus is like transformer Herculies

There is a posibility of time travel with hot-shot, but I do not deem that likely.
