The problem with Jazz

Recommended Posts

But because they killed him, they're not going to spend a great deal of time characterizing him as they would if he was going to survive.

Right, like those soliloquies Ratchet, and Ironhide gave cuz they were gonna live.

:roll

Why don't you get down off of your high horse about the movie PC?

In this case he's right. I think you've got it backwards: if anything, they'd want to characterize Jazz more so that his death has the proper impact for the audience.

The funny thing is, I've seen the movie a couple of times, but not for at least a month or so, and other than Prime, the only dialog that really sticks out to me is Jazz's. Maybe Ironhide did say more overall lines, but I think Jazz said what mattered, about rescuing Bumblebee and such.

INDEED

Better on my Horse than letting it crap on me.

That is dumbest expression I've ever heard :tflaugh

Don't go to INH much, huh?

I still say 30 seconds more of TF dialog would have done wonders for this Movie.

Yeah, we got that.

Ironhide still seems to be the more battle-hardened of the two, which is why he did most of those actions. I believe Jazz was more of the quick-to-strike trump-card, which is why he fought Brawl. However, does anyone think that Jazz's remaining behind, fighting Megatron was a move to stall for time? That is a true leadership quality.

IMO - though some disagree with me - Ironhide's age and experience lead him to know it was Starscream almost immeditately. He not only identified the Raptor as a 'Con, but specifically Starscream himself. The humans still didn't know what was going on until well after being attacked. Ironhide was the first to transform (followed quickly by Bumblebee) and Ironhide immediately began defensives to protect the humans (of course with Bumblebee's help). Ironhide is the oldest and most battle-tested, it makes sense for him to use that to his advantage and to I.D. a 'Con pretty quickly.

My personal thought is that Jazz was stunned just like Ratchet was immediately by Starscream's attack. Neither of them get transformed until later on when Devy-Brawl shows up. Jazz even seemed to react slowly to Sam tell him to back up if you'll notice.

And despite what some say - Jazz's dialogue was very fitting and stood out, IMO, with who he was and when he questioned Prime's orders. Also Jazz's flashy/stylish movements also made his character a bit more well-rounded IMO.

yeah, even Mr. "I Can't deal with that" Ultra Magnus did the same thing.

The problem is, they didn't put the right Emphasis on the scene. When Magnus did it, you knew that he was sacrificing himself to try to save the others. When Jazz stays back, you have to draw your own conclusions just like the guy who thinks Screamer fired on Megs.

True.

That was my interpretation. It takes balls to fight Megatron on your own, especially when you know you are going to lose and die a horrible death.
