Jazz's Death - I don't get this

I think the fact my cat's breath smells like cat food implies she likes to eat cat food.

Scorpinok did not die. Why spend 200 grand animating him crawling into the sand?

In movie visual language the character survived. They can retcon him dead later, but there is NO evidence of his "death" in this movie.

:tflaugh Once again, your interpretation. After leaving the theater, I wasn't saying to myself "what happened to Scorponok?" because I was lead to believe from the way they approached it in the movie that he had died.

Perhaps the answer isn't supposed to be obvious, btw

I think Scorponok was left alone cause he served his purpose for this film. If they can find a way to use him in the next movie - then we'll know his fate. If he doesn't appear in any sequel past this - he's as good as dead. As Sam Raimi once said - "Unless you're shown they died, you just can't be too sure on if they'll come back or not. Death in fantastical movies has to be shown, if not then they can always come back."

As far as we know, the only surviving 'Cons were Scorpy and Starscream, as well as Barricade (assumably) so they could be back in the sequel. But regardless, I don't think it's ever been established precisely WHERE a TF's spark is located. So if Jazz's was located in his mid-section area, then who knows where the others' sparks were? Well, except for Meggy and Prime -- at least from what I took from the movie, theirs were located in their chests (in Prime's case, this makes sense. I don't want to get too G1-ish, but going by G1 logic, his spark chamber was behind where he kept the Matrix, so if they DO bring the Matrix into the future movies, it was at least established that his spark is probably in his upper chest area)

Can you imagine what would happen if Megatron's spark was located somewhere else other than the chest and Sam would have basically handed him the... nevermind.. Moving on...

Considering Frenzy's decapitation and BB limb loping I fail to see how getting his tail shot off killed scorpanok. If he was mearly an extension of Blackout maybe he died when black out was killed. But that was not shown. Megs might be back in the next movie and he died on screen. Scorpinok was SHOWN escaping. If he was meant to be dead, it's another nail in the coffin of Bay's directoral style. Very clearly. If you didn't wonder what happened to him and Barricade at the end of the movie, you weren't paying enough attention.

As for it being my interpretation of the on-screen information, I don't seem to recall Blackout or Devestator burrowing into the ground when they died.

Please. Although I agree with you, spare us the Tramp imitations.

I dispute that claim, sir. Tramp only emphasizes 1-3 word clusters, and no Tramp post is less then 700 words.

Does any of it really matter? The writers of the sequel(s) can do whatever they want. If they want Scorponok to be dead, he won't show up again. If they want him to be alive, he will show up again. After all, Scorponok's "death" isn't nearly as tricky (or as central to the plot) as Megatron's, and you know they're going to have to figure out something with him. You may think that you know the "rules" of the Transformers universe based on your viewing(s) of the movie, but ultimately you are mere spectators - the writers and director are the gods here, not us.
