Megatron told Sam that if he gave him the Allspark , he would let him live to be his pet. Do you think he really meant that? My first thought was "No way, he'd squash him like a bug as soon as he got what he wanted!". But, Megs did seem interested in what was driving Sam (fear or courage), and had ample opportunity to squash him and yet did not. Perhaps he really did want a pet Sam? I'd rather have Mikaela myself. :07laugh

To me, that line sounded like something Agent Smith would ask Neo. "WHY, WHY, WHY do you persist Mr. Anderson?!"

I think that his anger got the better of him which is why he attacked, forgetting what he was even after in that moment. Since he could have just grabbed sam.

I think the writers didn't want Sam to die. Really, like you said, Megs had him cornered and he could have just grabbed him at any point.......or maybe he know Sam could kill him with it???
