It's the SMALLSPARK! Easy to make. Go to Michael's, find wood section. Buy bag of tiny 3/8th inch blocks. Thin some black paint or ink, paint all black, making sure to soak thw wood. Drybrush dark silver. Drybrush copper highlights, some grey streaks, some green corrision. Use tip of X-acto knife and mini flat-head screwedriver to make indentions. Black paint shows up in indentions. Design as you wish.

These suckers are tiny too, you can tell by Wreckage's hand there. Kudos to Timshinn73 who carved a 2" wooden AllSpark, that was a great idea!

"Buy a Hellraiser toy, remove box from Pinhead's blister pack and give it to your TF".

Jin, Do you take the screws out and disassemble the TF's before you paint them! I have a testors small detail brush but some of thos places are hard to get.. and how do you do the black lines?

Nope, I leave them together for the most part. Sometimes I'll pop a head off to get behind the neck, but as a rule I leave my TF's together and paint them in one mode, and then the next, touching up any jointrub by sanding or super-glue-shield method. Blacklining is easy. Thin down some black paint and draw in the lines, wiping away any that gets over the edge with your finger.

very nice! i love these! starscream w/ doc oc hands = hawt idea! it makes him one of the better ones. he may be a tad bit too yellow though... :tftongue

Greetings really fantastic work you have there.

Btw may I would like to ask when you apply the base coat do you thin down the colour? If so what is the ratio?

And if I were to do the coat with silver are the steps the same?

Sorry too many questions :P

With blacklining, you can always use Citadel Inks, by Games Workshop, which also work lovely jubbly.

Naw, questions are no prob! I thin down all of my paints unless they're the consistancy I like right from the jar, which is very rare. I don't have an exact ration, I just add drops of water until the paint is thin enough not to cover on the first coat and shows absolutely no brush strokes when dry. Normally I need 2-3 coats to get full covarage with thinned paints like this. The end result is worth it tho, a durable, smooth finish.

Metallics like silver can be done a few different ways. Normally you want a light-colored base for silver, so i do a basecoat of white. However if you want the really detailed effect, paint the section black first and drybrush the silver on. This makes the silver really bright and leaves a black shadow in the background. You can also mix silver with grey and get a cool 'inbetween' color. Not all silver, but not completly gray.
