Great to see you posting somewhere else too Jin. I saw your Bonecrusher a while back and loved it, these look great.

The BEST I've seen yet! Where'd you find Sreamers hands?

Very impressive work! Nice job. Makes me want the figures more when they look more realistic! :thumb Funny how that works.

WOW JUST WOW!!!!

can you post up the colors u used to paint(brand?) each one i want to do that to some of mine :D

btw are thes all hand painted? did u hvae to disassemble them to paint the inner joints?

Ah, like the different colors used on each one? Gah, that's way too many. Basically I use a combination of Testors Fantasy series Acrylics and their Model Master Acryl series. You can check out my Painting Guide and see the techniques I use to paint my figures, also where to buy the paints. http://www.angelfire.com/mech/jinsaotome/PaintingTips.html

Painting Transformers is no different to my than painting a Marvel legends figure. I don't take them apart and follow all the steps in my painting guide. Painting the inner joints just requires you to paint them in vehicle mode, then repaint sections in alt mode. It's like painting anything else I guess.

AMAZING... someone still has an ANGELFIRE website. :P

jk. these are astounding. what a debut!

what doc ock figure did u use to make the starscream hands from?

Tentacle Attack Doc ock I think it was? Or the bendy-tentacle one from the second movie series, they both have the same style claws. And yeah, I need to redo the entire site and upgrade to one of a thousand other servers soon, heh.

Doc Ock claws...holy sh*t, why didn't I think of that

BTW I totally pimped your work on Bonecrusher in a thread....somewhere. Care to elaborate on your methods?

Pretty much I follow all the steps of painting a normal ML figure as described in the Painting Guide link earlier. I even wash my Transformers off first like a normal fig so the paint sticks better. They just take a little longer to paint because you have two distinct modes.

With the movie figures I've found I have more freedom to distinguish robot from vehicle mode because they're kinda like 'shellformers', the robot parts are hidden underneath the vehicle body. I can add different highlights to the robot body and have it look really different when transformed, Brawl is a great example of this. I used dark green highlights for his tank shell and lighter green for his hidden robot parts, thus giving him a brand new color when transformed.

To everyone else, thanks for the welcome! Thanks for the compliments! Thanks for having such a cool site! I'm on the TNI boards all the time and dabbled in TF customs. You may be familiar with Shortpacked!, David Willis' strip. I do customs for him on occasion in exchange for artwork. He was really the reason I jumped into TF customizing and the movie strengthened that, giving me a new, much needed focus in my work. You can only make the same Magneto so many times, heh. I'll definatly be doing ML customs again, I'm just loving working with Transformers right now. Afterall, Jin does ride around in a giant Mecha, robots are my true calling! I hope you all enjoy my work and take inspiration from it to make your own customs. Ask me if there's anything you need to know, here or email me at jinsaotome@hotmail.com Thanks!

coolness and xtra points for giving SS hands

That Scorpnok is eerily accurate. Shows both your skills and what great mold he is.

You, sir, rock.
