the transformations

Recommended Posts

I might be the only one here but.......

Would anyone else have liked to see them transform like the G1's transformed? I know I would have. I don't really care for much other than G1 toys personally, so maybe they are transforming in the movie the way the new toys do. God I hope not, seems too difficult.

anybody?

btw, im not Starscreaming at all about the movie, like i said in a previous post. this movie is so great i think it might cure cancer.

All I can say is - G1-style transforming was over and done with for this movie. But this movie had plenty of G1 Throwbacks for everyone to enjoy, IMO.

Watch TRANSMORPHERS for G1 style morphing.

I was okay with the transformation sequences. Loved the scene of Bonecrusher tf'ing

I'm just thankful they didn't do their transforming in style similar to RiD/A/E/C with the long drawn out sequence in some type of sub-space dimension or other.

I was liked with them actually. They seemed like a mix of G1 and BW transformation styles. Of course, the G1 TF sound could have been thrown in a couple more times, but not a whole lot, using it every time someone TFd in the battle in LA would have gotten in the way.

They're fine, and I think they are the same as the G1 transformations would be if they were more detailed. I just wish that damn camera would have held steady so that we could see them properly. I would have also like a few good shots of Prime and Bumblebee's arm-gun transformations. As it is, they are no better than Prime's rifle appearing from nowhere in the G1 cartoon.

There were two still shots of Bumblebee's arm/gun transformation that I saw. I don't even remember seeing Prime's gun at all.

There's no question that the transformations were visually overwhelming, though. Part of that was the complexity, part of it was the camera angles (whaaaaaoooooooohhhh), part of it was the fact that you're watching it on a giant screen and you can't visually take it all in anyway. But I actually liked that approach, because it avoided improbable robo-money shots where the robots transform completely in frame (the better to jerk off to). And most importantly, you got a real sense of scale with the close-up transformation shots. It's like what you would see if some guy with a video camera were filming them... and I liked that sense of realism, since they aren't really there at all (which I had to keep reminding myself of, though I didn't believe myself).

i liked the transformation...they seem so real and cybernatics..miss the ould G1 sound tho!

Listen carefully next time just as Blackout starts transforming; it's totally there... I could also swear that I heard heavily modified versions of the transforming sound at various moments in the movie.
