What would you change in the movie if you could?

Recommended Posts

I just saw the movie, and yes I was impressed and loved the movie. But like any other movie that I watch there always something I wish was different.

I think Megs should have gotten more screen time, and had been shown more leading his troops. Even berating them and stuff. This how I would adjust the movie to make more sense to me or enjoyed more.

I would start the story off that there were a select elite group of elite guards/scientist TF's guarding the Allspark. Among this group is Jetfire/Skyfire and Starscream. Starcream want to use the allspark for his own purposes but cant do it alone. So he betrays Jetfire and others that protect the Allspark. He makes it possible for Megs to penetrate their defenses hoping that Megs attack will distract the others so he can snatch the Allspark for himself. Jetfire prevents this and leaves Cybertron with the Allspark. He gets frozen on earth. Story stays pretty much the same during the rest of the movie , except we see more of Megs leading (bossing) his troops. Bumblebee later unfreezes Jetfire at the dam. Jetfire and Screamer have their own arial fight scene. Jetfire gets a hold of the Allspark and tries to kill Screamer with it. Screamer kills him instead, but Screamer blows up anyway because Jetfire put the Allspark in his chest before he dies. Megs retreats with remaining Decepts. Credits roll we then see a Spark floating in space (or into a jet). Allspark had mutated Screamers spark, to be indistructible.

I just think out of all the decepticons, Frenzy got he most attention. When Megs and Scramer should have been the ones focused more in the movie. Megs was not really seen as a leader IMO, just more of a juggernaut. And Screamer had no personality shown.

I'm going to repeat myself for the 3rd time.. if nothing just for the sake of prosperity

.. I personally felt the Cons needed more screen time in general.. not nesicarly Megatron being he's kind of like the zomg big guy at the end of the movie that helps tie everything in.. if you brought him in too early in the movie, it wouldn't feel like you were anticipating much.. if that makes sense.. I would of liked the cons to hold a meeting after the autobots arrive.. nothing major, just a little discussion between the guys to show who's the leader of the pack, and to re-define their goals. - and no, the prequal comic is lame.. for the average movie goer who's not totally trenched in Transformers lore, they'd totally miss out on whats going on.. and I think that's a bit of a downer. It would atleast let the audience know that the cons are banded together. Because all you see is Sam and the Autobot's point of view. They can slip off into the shadows again, because they aren't really needed.. you got those sector 7 guys being douches for the bots to play with. If the cons were smart, they'd let the autobots do their dirty work for them, and then show up and beat the snot out of them..

Atleast thats how I would of done it.

Other than that, I wouldn't change a thing.

I would leave out the romance stuff definitely, the hacker stuff, and have less human screen time in general. The Decepticons definitely should have had more screen time. Oh, I would have left out the pissing, too, LOL.

Saying 'I wish there was this and that' is fine, but remember that the movie is already 2.5 hours long... if you're going to add more stuff like further character development for the Decepticons, you need to couple it with scenes that you would remove.

The human screen time is important to allow the movie to engage a general non-Transfan audience. As Transfans, it's easy for us to feel, "humans are stupid" and want a 100% TF-centric movie - which is pretty much what the G1 movie was like - and that TANKED in cinemas. This movie MUST engage a general audience, and telling it from a human perspective is vital for that in order to elicit the audience to emotionally invest in the story.

This movie isn't made for fanboy nerds... it's made for the general guy and girl on the street. There are elements in it which are easter eggs for fans - like the G1 references, casting of Peter Cullen etc., but overall, it's for the average Joe and Jane. And it works well for that. A non Transfan friend of mine saw the movie last night and she SMSed me saying that she cried in joy when she saw Optimus Prime -- I spoke with her boyfriend today who confirmed that she did indeed weep with excitement.

I'm with Goki. And I think with the exception of the lack of D'con specific moments, its a good movie and really enjoyable. I personally am going again today, and will probably see it another four times this summer, for four similar reasons. I know people that want me to take them.

My little sister when she gets back from camp. My little brother when he comes back from Israel in August. One of my sister's nurses wants to see it cause she has a crush on Tyrese Gibson and wants me there to explain some things. And my grandparents (namely my grandfather) want to see it with me when they come in near the end of August.

And the nice thing is, having already seen it once, I can look for things I didn't notice before.

Though I did find it interesting that Ironhide had a slight British accent to his voice. Ratchet had a hoighty-toighty voice to him. Both worked wonderfully.

my changes-

Get rid of the mindless fanboy drivil of the gen1 phrases.... that was stupid cheesy. Only thing I liked was Megatron's come back to Primes line! "I will be standing then!"

cut out the whole Autobots trying to hide in the backyard scene.... needless.

make the transformation scenes more fluid... it toke to long to transform.

An No to JarJar Binks characterization in Frenzy! arrrgh!

Devastator should have destroyed all three Autobots... he clearly had more firepower!

Not with the movie itself, but I wished the toys would be named accurately as 'Devestator'.

I think Id just put In tons of Decpticons, and feast on Autobots. :beer

Besides a good plot that made sense instead of some quick action clips of giant robots rolling around on the ground... hummm perhaps...

1. Get rid of the All Spark, made everything evil? so were did the auto bots come from then?

2. give Optimus a trailer.

3. Build some decpticon characters other than Megatron.

4. Less action from Megatron, more commanding his troops, possible more rumbling talk from Evil villain

5. Remove the hole hiding transformers in the back yard...

6. Ironhide would stay on his feet the hole time, unlike hopping around and rolling all over the place.

7. Not kill off the main character, how can you bring him back as galvatron now?

9. If they didn't want to seem like the 1980's transformers, have optimus actually beat up on megatron for once.

I have many other issues, but i will i have to see it 4 more times to really get out all the kinks..

It was a good movie.. but the lack of a good story made it really hard to walk out of the movie feeling satisfied. I wasn't expecting to WOW'ed, and never came close.. The ending was about the only thing that made me feel warm and fuzzy, that they called other bots to come.. the story can live on, especially with 3 decpticons still alive.

That "G1-transformation" sound was pure horseBlot. Sounded like an afterthought.
