Hasbro prototypes

Shockwave & Cosmos are absolute win

Arcee sadly not so much.

Looks like she would pass for a kitbash/scratch build but never an official proto.

Why a cybertronian alt mode that looks more like the landspeeder from ANH & not something cool/updated like Hot Rod?

I definately agree. from the waist down is terrible in both modes, and needs to be completely redone. Personally, I would have them completely re-do the figure based compltely on the DW comic book renderings of her.

Agreed on Arcee.

Because that's what BB was in the first EP of Transformers on Cybertron.

I think he's referring to Arcee. Not BB. I see what he means though.

And as for Arcee having thunder thighs, well, like people, there may be TFs that like that sort of thing (looks suspiciously at Springer who's kinda chunky himself).

As far as Shockwave is concerned...couldn't they have done something about his fist and laser being visible in his alternate mode? That Jazz looks like a cross between Alt Jazz and Alt Mirage. But if that's the idea for Classics Jazz, then cool. I'll pick him upt.

On the tiny Smokescreen my guess would be it was the second proto from the Binaltech planing stages (Miester being the first) back when Takara wanted to do them as 1/48th scale. Hasbro wanted something bigger though so they scaled it up to 1/24th and the Alt line was born at least that's my recollection from reading the Binaltech history book Takara put out. I think Miester looks pretty good considering it was the first proto made for the line though. I think it would have been cool to see that design reworked with what they'd learned during the line's production.

I really hope we see those titanium designs used in the new Universe line though. Personally I love all of them even though they all have some flaws; nothing that isn't fixable with a few slight redesigns. Bumblebee's head flap is what bothers me the most actually and all they'd really need to do to fix it is add another joint so it folds out of the way.

I may pick these up if they're ever released, but I worry about how they'll fit in with my pre-existing Titanium collection. If they're 6" they'll be out of scale with Classics (which I don't collect anyway), but they almost certainly won't come with bases, and low-grade died plastics will look totally out of place next to painted die-cast.

Surprising that it wasn't 1/43d scale, since that's a more standard "model car" scale.

They might look decent, but that doesn't mean they'd be any good as toys. Consider that the Titanium line was plagued with floppy joints and lame transformations. If they were going to make these into Classics toys I feel they'd have to do some significant reworking.

I think most of the problems in the Titanium line came from the use of die-cast metal, I reckon they'll work in plastic.

I thought Shockwave was to be a Titanium?

But if he's I Classics, I'm on top of that like Uncle Ben on wheatcakes.

He was. But Titaniums is now defunct. Yet another mold that they said they'd 'try' to fit into a future line. We'll see....

From what I can tell from the story line of the transformers club comics, Hasbro might release Shockwave (which is a must have for me :thumb, along with cosmos) as a exclusive of sorts for the classics series (and not as a titanium series).

now, this is all jmo, but that shockwave needs ALOT of work if it's going to be a classics figure. the overly simple transformation and ugly alt mode are somewhat acceptable for a 6" Titanium, hell it'd be right on par with most, if not all of them, but yea, as a classics, no thanks.

same thing goes for arcee too.

Yeah, they'd have to figure out something with the "spare" leg in alt mode, as well as something covering the hand/laser.

Tho, if that's all we get, I'll take it :<

Ugly alt mode? Dude, that's almost exactly what it looked like in the show.
