First Look @ 'Animated' Optimus Prime; New Info On Show

Any one notice that Dog Prime has Star Convoy's torso?

That is cool.

And I like stylized animation. Loved Clone Wars.

G1 shows standard writing is ass by todays standards, but it was a hell of a lot better than RiD A/E/C.

I'm sure that this show will be infinatly more watchable than the recent years attempts. But with dog Prime and The "Titanic Transformin' Power Rangers" plot they've described I think I have every reasont to be concerned in my preliminary estimate.

I watch, present tense, cartoons and enjoy them. I don't think this whole "Not made for you, Nostalgia boy" argument is valid.

What I'm saying is that, logically speaking, it does not necessarily follow that if you (as an adult watcher of kids' cartoons) dislike a given kids' cartoon, that that must mean that the cartoon isn't any good. That isn't the only possibility. Especially if people in the target demographic end up liking the cartoon. And judging from the way you are reacting to a small detail of Optimus Prime's design, it seems that your perspective is more "adult" than you might realize. I don't know any kid who would even think about Prime's "dog face".

Starconvoy's torso and Ginrai's arms. The designer team did their homework.

Be nice now. The style looks funky-fresh and if you don't like the images we've seen so far, it's a matter of taste. And that's one great big discussion of uselessness. You either like something or you don't. Agreed times a million. We don't choose what we like.

But saying the entire thing is a burning turd is a stretch based on what we saw. There is more to making a cartoon good then liking it. There is technical side to it. How do the characters move, how much frames are used to make their motions believable? Is the voice acting good? Aside from the keyframes, are the inbetween frames not too cheap looking? Is there a consistent story? We don't know yet. And maybe young kids won't be able to tell if these things are good, but we can.

Or the kids may not even really care about some of those things. They're a lot more forgiving as far as animation errors and voice casting glitches are concerned. Think about it : if we were really concerned about those things as kids we would have turned off MTMTE after 10 minutes when Megatron's voice seemed to come from Prime.

I think with most kids as long as it's exciting they'll be interested. It won't really matter if the transform sequences are physics-resistant or if Megatron has skinny legs or something.

I just want to say that South Park is probably one of the most entertaining cartoons ever. Must be the amazing animation...

Well it did get better. I recently saw the first episode again. Which looked horrible.

-Edit- Disney cartoons have beautifull animation and really crap stories. I think stories are the most important factor overall.

I just want to say that South Park is probably one of the most entertaining cartoons ever. Must be the amazing animation...

But the adult dialogue helps alot. I seriosly doubt Prime will be saying " Sonnava Starscream!" at a saturday morning toon. With southpark one looks past the animation due the dialogue. With TF's it is usually the visual action that should atttracts the viewers, followed by a story as to why the action is taking place.
