Hmm, the movie colors are a lot better. They could've just added G1 colors to parts/panels that only show in bot mode. The headsculpt is still hideous but marginally better than the movie head.

 

Although.., the G1 colors are really letting me see a lot more of the relative proportions of each of the body parts, and making me realize just how awful this entire mold and character design are. :wtf

Also, I dig Ratchet, but not enough to buy him right away, probably wait and see how it plays out. Definitely getting the green Ratchet though. And again - I say SKYWARP would have been a better choice than G1-Homage City, ALL-AMERICAN SUPER AIR SHOW! AMERICA! Powerglide YEAH! version of Movie Starscream.

Yep, these guys suck in robot mode. I knew starscream would, but I wasn't sure about ratchet. But he sucks too.

Rachet is blinding in those colors so I am going to buy the yellow version.

These color schemes worked better 20 some odd years ago.

I'm buying both versions of each toy. I was expecting such repaints, so it's very welcome. I can't see why there is so much hatred for these. They're just repaints. They do not look this in the movie. I think some of you may change your minds when they repaint Ironhide.

Probably because they really do make trucks in Ironhide's G1 color.

 

(contrasting him only with Starscream -- I do think it's funny how people are like "OMG OBNOXIOUS" about Ratchet since he's just white and red... the safety green of the movie version is SUPPOSED to be obnoxious, i.e. highly visible)
