More Transformers Movie Repaints Revealed

Recommended Posts

I must say that this is the most absurd, outright rejection of Transformers since we (myself included) first saw the movie designs.

ratchet looks like an extremely-cautious-orangutan-boxer and that to me is awesome.

It's driving me nuts... who are the guys in your sig supposed to be?

They are DigiBashes of the minibots from G1 - done in new molds...

Warpath, Powerglide, Cosmos, Huffer, Gears, & I assume Hubcap (or Bumper/Bumblejumper).

I thought it was something like that, but I couldn't figure it out because there were only six and I was like "are these the 1984 guys, or the 1985 guys, or BW guys, or.... I DON'T KNOOOOOW"

it caused me some anguish

At a guess:

I can say that the 'G1' colored SS wouldn't work as a character in the movie, maybe if they did the same thing to this fig as MP03 type of paint scheme it would? I kinda like Ratchet's color scheme, but I don't remeber if there was ever an ambulance made out of an SUV? would work as a rescue vehicle perhaps

I would like this more if Starscreams cannons under his wings were not such a bright blue, it realy highlights the clutter under his wings alot like it is.

This is like taking any ramdom post-G1 toy and slapping a completely non-sensical set of colors on them.

What's amazing is that people are offended by it. 90% of all repaints post BW have been done this way and the other 10% gets done by kitbashers.

Differance being that these are completely and utterly FUGLY.

Only Atmo could love that Starscream.

I think the offense comes from the mixing of modern movie design and G1 color design aesthetic. It really doesn't work IMO. There are a lot more creative ways that you could use those colors that wouldn't be so immediately awful.

okay maybe there aren't

Still, Starscream is lol. I want him just so I can giggle when I'm sad.

well.

my opinion of G1 deco Moviescream remains unchanged.

and for Ratchet to work in those colors he really needs more black and less red in robot mode.

i will take the green one please.

I really like them both and I am surely going to buy both decos, the one from the movie as well as the G1 themed. I think though that the movie toys look better in bot mode w/ those color schemes and the G1 themed look better in alt mode. I think that is a nice compromise since I always try to display recolors w/ one in alt and one in bot. Works out very well for me.
