Well, the head won't be reattached until I've prayed the back of it with black KF, and I don't have any painter's tape to cover the face just yet. I'm hoping to borrow some from my friend tonight (so I can do the roof without painting the windshield white!). Fusion says it's scratch resistant after 7 days, so, to be safe, I'm waiting almost 2 weeks after painting to assemble. I'm dying to start putting stuff together now, though!!

The doors and the backend and spoiler are finished! I painted the back and the spoiler separately, but put them together anyways after it dried, since there won't be any moving parts involved with it. I didn't need the soldering iron after all with the doors...they just popped right off!!

First coat just went on the new, flat hood...I pray the Paperclay holds Krylon well...

You're a madman!! :tflaugh

Thanks, guys. The red stripes went on the front bumper, the back of the head was painted black, and the roof got some white.

Red stripes, roof, hood, back of head, grill, and license plate holder (cut the trailer hitch off) are drying. I'll be assembling him in about two weeks (even though Fusion says "7 days").

Since I don't want to start putting him together until it's been two weeks (even though Fusion only says 7 days), I thought I'd make some little teaser photos.

Glued the headlights in:

(didn't need to worry about paint scratching for that)

And, since it's been over two weeks since i did the black parts, here's more of the skeleton:

Enjoy!!

Oh dude this totally kicks ass!

I love the choice of figure you chose for Jazz. Nice WIP shots, too. Looks like it'll turn out great. :)

Thanks!

Still waiting for the overcoat on the taillights to dry. I don't want to hammer that super-long pin back in, and risk screwing up any of the stickers...

it looks nice, but i think that you really need to blue tint the windshield and remove the chin.

  • Author

Well, this is done except for the taillights and stickers.

The chin forms a mouth at the top of it, underneath the nose. And, the only translucent blue paint I can find is the same color as the headlights, so I'm not doing the windshield that dark.

Sorry.
