WHY DOES HASBRO AND TAKARA MISTAKENLY NAME THE TRANSFORMERS CHARACHTERS?

Recommended Posts

My oh my. What a dumb, dumb thread.

Why on Earth does it matter? Do you lack imagination? If so, get one. Rename them for your own personal collection.

Geez Louise.

Imagination is cheating.

Um...yeah, you're an idiot. Plain and simple. It must suck to be you, never dreaming, never enjoying the realm of fantasy. Considering you think "Imagination is cheating", you really shouldn't be involved with anything that has to do with Sci-Fi. Ridiculous.

Ignoring facts=/=creativity

Fantasy is fine and all, but fans should not alter official canon.

Fans are allowed to alter official canon for themselves, in their own personal lives. Their repaints, remolds, and fanfics do NOT interfere with the lives of others, nor does it cut into HasTak's profits.

If you can honestly sit there and tell me that you'd like to deny people the right to view things the way they wish to, then you truly do disgust me. And you will have proven to me that you're inhuman and incapable of sensible (and logical) thought.

Sonny boy, I don't know who taught you to be such a prick, but you're goin' up against some of the best minds here, we'll mop you up and wring you out into a bucket of Blot, and flush you, all in one nice sweeping move.

So if you're going to be productive and add to the community, do so. If not, then STFU and get the hell out of here.

Who the hell do you think you are? And do you really think a person renaming a figure in their collection is changing official canon for everyone? Seriously? Are you that devoid of a grasp of reality?

....I just want to pour Drano on my brain to erase the bullBlot you just spewed. UGH!

You know that Vice President guy, Dick Chieny? I don't think that name fits him. I like to call him Werno Von Krugermiester instead. In my personal canon he is a former Nazi who extended his lifespan via Bionics. Oh and his heart was replaced by a solid chunk of Kryptonite! :thumb

But see...that's your right to call him whatever and think however you want about him. But if it's alright for you, it's alright for us. I just realized, it's not that you can't see my point, you're not willing to see it. A very big, and super closeminded difference. For a moment I thought of you as inept and incapable of seeing a point. Nothing wrong with that exactly, many people aren't as sharp as they need to be. You however, choose to be adamant and offensive and must push your own agenda over everyone else's. That's where you cross the line, and you're younger than 90% of us, thus you owe us respect as your elders, and you don't do that either. So you've really crossed the line.

Your parents would be disgusted to know that their child is a monster, full of hate and bigotry. (Bigotry of the mind and it's capabilities...which if not checked could lead into other forms.) You should be ashamed of yourself, and everyone that calls you friend should be disgusted.

Fictional Characters are still defined by Facts and Fallacies, It is a fact that Shurlock Holmes plays the violin, it is a fact that Darth Vader used to be a pod-racing prodigy. Denying facts about anything, fictional or real is immature and inane.

1.) It's Sherlock Holmes. (if you're going to use a fact, at least spellcheck the damn thing.)

2.) Fiction is defined by facts and fallacies to a point, but it breaks those bonds on many occasions to fully embrace what it is. Fiction, a falsehood, not entirely based in reality, etc. Without going out of those bounds, we wouldn't have TransFormers. Optimus Prime and crew popped up from imagination and Science Fiction. They do not exist in our reality in any form other than audio/video, comic, and toys. Those are inanimate objects, not living things. You can enjoy them because of a lapse of reality's hold on you, you don't have to be in reality all the time. If that were the case, this would be one boring, sad world. No progression would come of it. Dreamers got us to the stars, and to the moon. If they hadn't, we'd still be wondering what those little flashes of light are, in the night sky. (Stars, boy, follow the train of thought, it's rooted in reality.)

3.) Denying "facts" about something fictional or real is part of imagination and thinking outside the box. Denying facts about fiction is not only part of grasping onto your imaginative capabilities, but also...IT'S NORMAL! If you adhered to the "facts" in fiction...you'd be one confused and lost person, because the real world and the fictional world may have ties to one another, but they are entirely different universes. Plain and simple.

The fact that you get none of this, or are unwilling to....makes you a lost cause, and proves to me that you're far more exasperating than I first thought.

Get the stick out of your ass, embrace your imagination, and your freedom to create, but most of all...do not take away that right from others. This is the United States Of America (and anywhere else in the world, your inner thoughts are your's and no law can take that from you, it's what you do with them that becomes dangerous, or unlawful.) and we're entitled to this right, so are you.

I think part of it is that you're trying to be impressive, or trying to be as knowledgeable as M Sipher (Which no one should attain to, you don't want to grow up to be an immature Afterburner with no life and a rude disposition....) but you're failing miserably with your "I'm right, you're wrong, Powerglide you" attitude.

.....seriously, pull the stick out of your ass.

When you take the bait, you really bite down, do you?

That's what I was going to say! I haven't been posting here for a few months, and it's good to see that upon my return, X-Bob is still pissing people off. Good thing it's the internet, no one would take all this grief from some kid in the really, real world. X-Bob's special charm is described in the following image:

You're right, in the real world if he squared off against someone like this, they'd beat his ass down and have him hospitalized and enjoy it.

Actually, fiction is an organized falsehood that is based entirely on a set of fabricated, yet consistent, facts. The fact that these facts are not based in reality is irrelevent, except in that Optimus Prime is less likely to sue you for defamation of character than Dick Cheny is. That a person chooses to stick with existing canon does not relegate him to a 'boring, sad world'. It is in fact possible to dream and be creative without renaming your toys or shelving them with figures of other lines.

Denying "facts" about something fictional or real is called "self-deception", or if not deliberate, "insanity". Your strong language trips up your point. It is a fact that Hasbro released the Shockwave-like alternator with the name "Shockblast". If you deny that fact you're denying reality. If you merely choose to refer to the toy by another name for reasons of personal preference, without actually rewriting the facts of the situation in your mind, that's different. It's called "playing with your toys". There's nothing wrong with that, but it's not particularly noble, either. It just is.

Not only is it normal to refer to toys by other names for play purposes, it's ALSO normal to refer to them by their release name. Adhering to the "facts" (the canon) when referring to a given fictional universe does not make you a confused or lost person; you'd only get confused if you conflated the fictional universe with the real universe, which nobody's doing: stop throwing out red herrings.

The rest of your post was a degenerating downspiral of ad hominem attacks, but there is one thing worth addressing: the only thing wrong with an "I'm right, you're wrong, Powerglide you" attitude (which you seem to evince in these posts, incidentally) is the "you're wrong, Powerglide you". There's no point in being an Afterburner and there's no reason to tell other people that their way of playing with their toys isn't consistent with the official history of the toys, since it's generally accepted that toys can be played with in a variety of ways without it reflecting back on the original source media. (This seems to be where x-bob is screwing things up.) That said, you're not a lesser person if you *don't* rename your toys or otherwise deviate from canon, and you're not a glorious gallant better person if you do. That's where *you're* screwing things up.

Oh, yeah, that and citing age as the support for what has been up to that point a reasonable position. Don't do that.

Okay, I'm done, flame away!

You're right, in the real world if he squared off against someone like this, they'd beat his ass down and have him hospitalized and enjoy it.

In the real world people go to jail for unprovoked assault.

Unprovoked? :rofl

You both have good points, but definitely too much e-testosterone flying around here! :P

Free speech and all, your aloud to be as big a dick you want to be as long as it's not physical. The one who throws the first punch is always at fault.

Nice vague, empty threat. :thumb

In the real world people disappear all of the time and are never found again.

Are you saying that you can go up to people on the street and start telling them that your ideals/values are the only possible correct ideals/values, and not have some form of retribution visited upon you? Because in the real world, when folks start getting all smart assed and telling others that what they believe is wrong, they get their asses kicked. Look at the Middle East, at the very root of it, you got a whole bunch of groups with different ideals/values all pissed at each other for not sharing those ideals/values. And because of those differences, they all want to kick each others' asses.

I'm sorry you were such an unruly child that your parents resorted to hitting you, and thus you developed the false notion that violence is an appropriate response for agitation. :tfsad
