Fort Max reissue

NO we should. This country play to the LOWEST common denominator. It is the weak that drives and controls this country. Moronic kids who are too stupid to have common sense, and stupid parents who dont teach thier children.

There are tons of children who die from choking hazards, poke their eyes out and do something else moronic.

That is why missles are not pointy anymore, guns have orange paint, anything springloaded is neutured to and extent.

How is it that Japan can make these toys just fine and avoid the problems we have? Are the children smarter than ours? how would a japanese 2 yr old know not to swallow a small toy? Prolly their parents dont let their children have such toys. but anyway somehow Japan is able to avoid their toys from having to be re-engineered for the 'safety' of small children.

Heck do you know why Optimus Prime's smoke stacks are short in the USA? cause Hasbro knows that, like in the 80's, people are too stupid to maintain their toys in good order. People will drop it, possibly kids will, and complain to get new stacks. Hasbro neutured OP just to avoid the costs of having to replace those parts.

Maybe if they had a parts replacement program, like PLaymobil and lego, then we could avoid this. however this would require all new employee, new inventory system, warehouse space for parts, etc.

guns have orange paint

Not to prevent someone (armed police) mistaking it for a real gun?

I've been in situations (British Army) where people are carrying guns & if someone was stupid enough to point a toy gun at me without an orange tip on, I'd rather shoot them in the face than take the chance of the same happening to me.

In today's social climate worldwide, I feel orange tips are a good measure.

Or because the parts that break off are a choking hazard maybe? We (collectors) are not Hasbro's money-makers, these are kids toys & need to be sold to children. Safety should always come first.

where are these 'tons of children'? I have never known anyone who knew someone this happened to. I think you're blaming the children (who aren't that dumb) when your problem is Hasbro's legal department.

No one I went to school with every injured themselves with their toys.

As for Fort Max, I don't know if I would buy a reissue. If it were original retail price, adjusted to inflation, I might buy one. But if it were really expensive, I wouldn't buy one.

wow i seen this thread go in very different directions... here's another point. space. i remember there was a time (maybe lastyear) that the next big thing to collect (in japan) was micro stuff. i dont know if gashapons are still popular there but FM is just way too big for 'most' people's collections in japan.

assuming that the toy is for the adult collector, their probably isn't a demand for this toy. maybe if they made an ehobby exclusive that was all gold, chrome, or clear (with only 500 produced) then people would be going nuts... but other than that i just don't see it happening anytime soon.

maybe if they released a smaller scaled FM the size of metroplex, with better articulation... that would be cool... but thats just me.

:/ You're right, Japanese reissues are for the Japanese market first... But the real market for Transformers is outside Japan :)

Imagine the shipping costs!!!!!

No offense to you, but im sure your world is a lot smaller than you think it is. Im not saying you arent a personable guy/girl and know many people. But given the normal range of one's life and the connection you have with the people you meet, it is a small percentage of an overall population.

Im merely thinking of lawsuits and recalls. For one, when a recall is made and performed, for a defect that requires some change in the manufacturing process, there has to be a large enough problem. i.e enough people directly effected by this problem. Take for example the Ford explorer's firestone tire problema few years back. How many cases went by before Ford stopped paying out lawsuits and then issued a recall?

Do you really think Hasbro wants to bother spending money to re-tool a toy to save money? NO. Re-tooling a toy requires lots and lots of money. new molds have to be made, new assembly lines have to be done. granted it is an investment now to save money on possbile lawsuits.

Of course tests were performed to a standard to see if there is a choking hazard or pose some danger. But these tests were done based on what? stupid children. Yes if something breaks off, it is a possible choking hazard. well if a kid is stupid enough to eat something that he will choke on, then good, perhaps he/she should die. it is a harsh lesson but that is what evolution is for. Weeding out the weak and stupid.

Regarding the orange tip. dont get me wrong that is a great way to stop people from being shot. But however, how is it that Japan can mass produce so many Airsoft weapons that look so realistic and yet not have that large of a problem to force manufacturers to make the tips orange?

Because it is a fundamental problem with our society.

1: people are stupid enough to point fake guns at people with real guns

2: if we outlaw all guns like Asia does, you have the Gun fanatics up in arms over their rights to bear arms. and then they complain that only outlaws will have guns. Well asia seems to do jsut fine eliminating gun ownership from its citizens (actually you can own a firearm in japan but very very difficult to do so)

I highly doubt a $90 MP OP is for children. cmon. what parent, besides rich parents, would buy their child year old a MP OP. Dont tell me that is for children. I dont have a problem with the cheaper toys like the 6.99 cybertron TFs being geared to young children. But to make OPs stacks short just to save some money on replacing parts? heck if they just simply made a bunch more long stacks and had them on the side, the people who do break them would be more than happy to buy a replacement set.

I got the Korean reissue and he wasn't more than $110 shipped. Sure he's missing the extra bits but I ordered the gun set for very little. I don't like the color as much as Fort Max but for the cost, I'll deal. I just wish I had the cash for the Predaking reissue when he was readably available...
