It looked to me like they were getting Transmetals'D as they were sinking in the lava too...

 

you could always say something like "due to the instability of their mutating bodies at that moment, the trauma of the extreme temperature caused them to disintegrate" or some crap like that.

 

You know, maybe if the show didn't end so soon, the writers may have brought them back? Oh well.

 

mBigWebb, Wasn't it funny that Inferno could take a full blast of radioactive Energon and not die but Meg's blast just wiped em out.

 

Dinobot 2's death was weak too. It took raw energon to kill Rampage but the nemesis explosion killed D2. Not likely. He should have healed and when G1 Megs uncovered the Heart of Cybertron, D2 should have come busting out.

Optimus Prime 1st death in comics.... I mean c'mon, letting yourself be voluntarily blown up because you killed some fake CG characters in a game.... :roll

 

That incident only adds another layer of patheticness to that character.

i liked it the other decepticons just watched him and went o...k and slowly backed away. beastwars the two of the best and most useful terras and they dont get a decent beurial...also if i could have been anyof them in bw i wanted to bw trm2 dino as he had super agility cool zoom eyes and a predator style shoulder cannon if i remember..but he died weak same as tigerhawk i think cant really remeber will have to watch..but same as ironhide in movie... inferno aint dead he just in pieces waspinator will help him some day...if he cant figure out how.

 

teh worst death is the one that never happened....five faces or darkness....whellie & blur on shuttle and galvatron,cyclonus, sweeps have about 20 mins of shooting at them and they cant kill them..thats the worst most pointless death cos i never got to see it..other than that mirages was lame

Ultra Magnus' death in the Headmasters cartoon was really stupid - not really because it was "pointless" - I don't mind indiscriminate random deaths, as Furman pointed out, it is a realistic nature of war - but the way he died was really lame.

 

Ultra Magnus stands there, allows Sixshot to shoot him, falls down, then gets up again and just stands there giving Sixshot time to transform and shoot him again. Ultra Magnus keeps doing this until Sixshot has transformed and shot Ultra Magnus in all of his modes! He made no attempt to fight back, evade or even plain run away or surrender. Nope. He just stood there and copped all of Sixshot's blasts.

 

Magnus' death was meant to highlight Sixshot's skills as a ninja warrior. WHAT SKILLS? You defeated an opponent who didn't fight back!! Gah!!

No, this was the American cartoon. Galvatron flies directly into the sun to stop Unicron from controlling his body. Great. Then, Mirage (the updated form of Tidal Wave), decides to randomly follow Galvatron into the sun and dies as well. Throughout the series, Mirage basically just did whatever he was told. I guess not having a leader was just too much.
