Next Takara G1 Re-Issue

Recommended Posts

Rumor is current Tomy plans have the TFC line staggered to 4 releases a year.

although some of the charachters from masterforce like Overlord or Black Zarak which

Using the general pattern of reissues being 1.5 times or more their original retail price, a reissued Overlord and Black Zarak would be the bones of $100 each. Perhaps more. That''s too expensive to made part of the standard TFC line.

What about the Predaking reissue?

I don't think the Predaking reissue was part of the TFC line.

I wouldn't mind seeing some Headmasters released in the TFC line. Mindwipe was one of my faves as a kid.

Predaking wasn't. He just was (Is) sort of a New years-thing, just like Galvatron recently.

I do hope Takara will continue the line. Not every car has been released yet, as well as Thundercracker and Skywarp are missing in action, considering the mold already is used I'm hoping for a release of these guys soon.

They did Star Convoy didn't they? It's hard to believe that in a collector's line, there wouldn't be people dying for a Mega/Black Zarak, or an Overlord or Deathsaurus.

I take it takara only has 21 molds of the TF G1?  Im assuming this since they only released 21 book styles and I noticed all they do is remake what they have with different variants...

We have no clue what the hell they have left.  Broadcast (Blaster) just came out, so there's no indication that the bookstyle reissues are done for.  Releases like LROP and Galvatron are too big for the bookstyle boxes, so they've been released separately.

And the variants are all eHobby exclusives, which was pretty much the point of eHobby anyways, to create an avenue to produce limited edition variants.

Be patient

Takara has been slowing reissues for a while now.

I can almost GUARANTEE that they have more sitting around.  Ironhide and Ratchet were used a few years back; The US got Red alert, Bluestreak, Hoist with Trailbreaker being done in Japan some years back.

And considering nearly all the other G2 reissued figures (Prime, Jazz, Sideswipe, Inferno, Starscream) have already been done, it is highly likely that the Dinobots may well still be around, at least Grimlock

I'd wager they gave Star Convoy  special consideration becasue of their obsession with all things Convoy(?)

And have you guys actually be submitting your requests into Takara via their customer surveys or just sitting around Starscreaming about why Takara won't pick up your thoughts via mental telepathy? Every Takara TF comes with either a self-addressed survey card - which was phased out and replaced with a slip of paper with a JAN-code to use on the Takarafans.com survey site.

I've been using the Takara surveys for 9 years and regarding reissues and Binaltechs, I know a lot of my requests have come true. Sure, some haven't - but as the old saying goes, "ask and you shall receive." It's not a guarantee that Takara will do it, but not asking isn't going to help solve your problems.
