Toy Warnings

If you look at this picture, notice that the hands are missing, and more importantly, look at the dark lines on his chest areas. These 'swirls' are where the plastic doesn't mix and are fracture points. Take a toy like Skyhammer, and you can literally push your finger through the toy with ease.

Another toy made of this that is easily forgotten is Action Master Sprocket. If you find a gold toy that doesn't have many Swirls, it will be sturdier. My Killbison has no swirls and it is solid as a rock. I have seen a Killbison with swirl, and it had a broken arm.

Liokaiser rocks Simon. Whomever told you otherwise is a tool.

The freakin' head broke off of my Transmetal Megs the other day when I was trying to put on his Golden Disc spinner attachment. The head!! I superglued it back on, but I think some of the glue seeped down into his neck hole, because now his head won't turn. I guess he'll just be facing forward from now on.

The key is to glue the ball joint and let it dry before putting it in the socket.

G1 Skydive (or any of the other small aerialbots). When the legs are stiff and you pull too hard, you can find yourself with upper torso in one hand and legs in the other.

This is sort of related and not.

How do you keep those monstructor and dinoking shells not slimey?

I have two spare dinoking shells that aren't slimey and a set in the plastic that are slimey.

I heard a rumor somewhere that if you leave them out in the open, they shuld be fine?

Any ideas or tips?

My transmetal Megs snapped at the waist while trying to transform him one day. He was my favorite beast wars megs too. :emo

My Scowl is slimey, the rest aren't. They've always been a set so I don't know why one is different.

Oh, another common problem is Wildfly spots. Even sealed ones have spots.

I remember the '84 Christmas. Transformers just came out and I scored a Megatron. First time transforming him, the gun barrel snapped off at the hinge. And since they were the hotest toy that year, there was no way to get a replacement. It was both my happiest Christmas and my saddest.

'Warning these are addictive and you will never stop wanting them'

My (rubber wheeled) Metroplex snapped in half. I remember it well, was mildly traumatised!

Getting a knackered old plastic wheel Metroplex off Ebay, and using the waist to replace the broken one of my original was the thing that got me back into collecting after 14 or so years!

*edit* it should be noted that Hasbro actually realised the problem with the waist. The plastic-wheeled Metroplex actually has a reinforced waist to hold the 'mushroom' that stretches up into the chest and is part of the mechanism - this is why it's handy to get a junker plastic wheeled toy as a waist donor as the waist is made better!
