Toy Warnings, Things that I wish I knew ahead of time...

This warning should be printed on ALL Tf boxes.

Warning: T!T Megatron will Outback Transufomah! your innerchild and leave you feeling empty and waiting by the phone. No one should ever add him to their collection. ever.

Yeah, my G1 Mirage broke when I was a kid. same thing: waist joint.

I ended up using some stiff window putty to reconnect him. He was fine in bot mode, and stayed together as a car though he sagged a bit in the middle.

3. Gold parts are super fragile like in Black Zarak and the parts in the monstructor set. Will "melt in your hands".

I heard more rumors or warning, but just can't seen to remember them all right now.

This is call gold syndrome. Almost all tfs back then that have gold are threatened by this. Its like the cosmic rust of the tf toy world.

Keep in mind, however, that it isn't ALL golden toys, just a particular make. Such Gold Plastic Syndrome sufferers include:

Black Zarak

Roadblock (pretender)

Slog and Bristleback (pretenders Monstructor)

Skyhammer (pretender)

G2 Slingshot

G2 Electro (the laser rod)

Beast Wars Randy (repaint of Razorbeast)

But after Randy, the use all but died. Cannonball, for instance, is not a sufferer of GPS.

It seems also one type of hasbro's TM megs also has a GS problem even though he has no gold.

Well for the Titanium, I think they came broken. Brought the megatron, arms fell off on the way home. Hate him. I refuse to buy any of the other figures. I pretty much bent over and took it. :tdown

The plastic wheels Metroplex actually has an additional point in the waist, so snappy Metroplex wouldn't be so common. Just an FYI.

...and thanks to that warning, my Titanium Megs will stay MISB (and intact)..
