question about superion

Recommended Posts

I've had the KO Superion set, and I also have a real superion. The KO is slightly undersized, so the limbs will NOT work. I was considering putting my Superion up for sale, if you're interested in making me an offer... or you could try completing one piece by piece on Ebay. But all the KO will do is piss you off, trust me from experience. :thumb

Btw, it's spelt AERIALBOTS - sorry, I thought you'd might want to know this as it would probably help you search for them on eBay and stuff if you get the spelling right. ;) (and also because I frequently see it being mispelt as "arielbots" - which I presume are Autobots that transform from The Little Mermaid to a former Israeli Prime Minister).

I would strongly recommend going for the original Aerialbots to complete as limbs. The knockoffs have slightly different colours (e.g.: the whites are a lot brighter than the real Aerialbots) and the stickers are different too. The KO Superion parts don't fit on as well because they're a slightly different size to the original parts.

My Superion is made up of all original Aerialbots, original head, fists and left foot, but the chest panel, groin plate and right foot are KOs. Hang on, lemme take a pic so you can compare the original and KO parts for yourself... *grabs digicam*

Here ya go...

And here's what a proper Superion with full legit parts should look like. Note the difference in colour and stickers - and if you can see it, size as well (hence why the KO parts don't fit on as well). The KO head is the worst in terms of fit - it's actually impossible to fit onto a G1 Silverbolt as the cavity is way too small for Silverbolt's head.

i've got 3 of the KO gestaults and the only one realy worth it was Defensor. Superion is.... well just Blot. i had to super-glue silverbolt's legs so that he'd even remain standing, and he's still wobly as Powerglide. i had to use super-glue around the fist pegs to make them big enough to fit into the arms, and his crotch plate falls off all the time, other than that he even looks.... cheap. devastator on the other hand is pretty damn cool, well obviously he's a form of devastator, but it just makes me want a real one that much more. my ko devy is pretty Blotty quality, no where as bad as superion, but pretty bad. the fists don't stay in, i had to take the pin out of long haul to even form devastator, so it's realy a balancing act now. the dev parts are hard to snap on, so is bonecrusher, and i'm afraid of breaking the pieces that hold bonecrusher and scavenger on just due to how fragile they feel. the bot modes look like total Blot though.

ZOMG!!! GOKI'S USING KO PARTS!!!!!

ok, now that i've Blot a brick...

wow the real superion looks tons better than the ko

The KO parts are only interim until I get the official ones. :P Oh, and I got them for free - I didn't actually buy the KO gift set. Someone just gave me KO Superion parts. For some reason I keep receiving KO TFs and KO TF accessories for free from other people - I never pay a single cent for them.

My Menasor has one KO foot (again, it's just interim) and I two KO Defensor sets - one is Blot, the other is terminally Blot.

In the end, these KOs are all very craptacular and I'm certainly glad that I never paid any money for them. If other people want to give them to me for free I'll take them... but I would never part with my own money for a knock off. 'SIF!

I've always thought about selling my full set. I guess now is a good a time as any.

It's complete and the official ones. Silverbolt suffers from yellowing of the plastic parts and some loosening of the legs due to playing with it. The legs do lock in place in all modes though. Also the big Autobot logos are taped on since they lost their stickyness :redface The ramp has a stressmark on the connection point due to a small accident, but it's still intact. The 4 others were bought much later and have barely been played with. All the parts are there, even the 4 small guns. No damage or stressmarks to any of them.

Edit: please excuse the grainy picture. My mobile phone can't do better than that. It may appear that some wings are missing. But I assure you they're all there and those that fold are tight on all 5 planes, so they'll stay in place.

Edit 2: If you want it you'll have to get the whole set, including Silverbolt, since I'm not going to seperate him from his gun. I know you already have one, but yours is very likely in a better state than mine. You can always use it for spare parts or something.

i'll definately be in touch after christmas then. it will be cool to have a proper complete combiner (has a defensor consisting of hotspot, streetwise, blades, dragstrip and afterburner)

Superion was the first combiner I had and it was the wobbliest piece o' crap ever.

It was very difficult to get the limbs in Silverbolt's "input jacks". Slingshot's head was slightly turned to the left from trying to move him in "arm mode"

And Superion looked way too skinny, especially compared to Bruticus or Menasor.

I preferred to keep him "uncombined". They were cooler that way for me at least.

Hopefully, I only ended up with a dud, and you won't.

I don't have that problem with my Slingshot. Superion does indeed look skinny. That's mainly due to Silverbolt's design (especially the legs).
