Transformers: Heroes to be animated by Gonzo

Recommended Posts

It's true, there is a lot of good anime out there... it's also true that the majority of it sucks. The same is true for American television, of course. For every Seinfeld there's a hundred Hangin' with Mr. Coopers. The problem is most of the programs that actually makes it to this country are horribly animated, horribly dubbed, horribly written kids shows.

The last four TF series are prime examples of that (for those who choose to forget RID). Then of course there are even more egregious examples, like One Piece, which I can't even stand to look at, and blatant Pokemon clones like Yu-Gi-Oh. I try not to give these types of shows the distinction of even being referred to as anime. To me they're simply "cartoons."

Anime is cold and lifeless IMO. The attention to detail and all that stuff doesn't change that.

ironically that makes it ideally suited for shows about giant robots

Didn't find either Metropolis or Spirited away to be at all lifeless

Ghost n the the shell, and appleseed however, yes without a doubt.

Darn you! You made me remember Miyazaki! Yes, he is truly, genuinely awesome. A genuine artistic visionary. Fair enough.

I just hate those stupid human characters, with that stupid mouth sceaming all the time and those Big eyes. They should animate It over here It will be a better product. :usa

EVERYONE hates those human characters. And just because it's anime don't mean it has annoying humans. Koji was pretty cool, say, compared to Danial.

And "stupid mouth sceaming all the time and those Big eyes"...? If that distracts you from the coolness of a show(anime or not), you're missing out on some pretty cool things. If anything, anime human characters look far more attractive than toon humans.

Of course you're too proud to see that :roll

ugh, I forgot about One Piece! what a crock of crap. But I happily admit Miyazaki is a genius. Can we get him to write for the next Transformers series?

Agreed, and agreed. :thumb

As for adapting to the "big eyes/screaming mouths" Mentality all anime has. I depends on the form of anime it is. As Pete said a lot of it is lifeless & cold and based on actual realism like Ghost in the Shell or Appleseed while some of it is more in the sense of traditional fun. Also the over exaggeration of said facial features is to relay and put extra emphasis on the given emotions/reactions in a character. Watching Teen Titans, (not traditional anime) I don't find it all that distracting really. That I guess is just me.

My thoughts on Pokemon, and every other card captor/card playing anime hybrid I guess is debatable because unlike the younger posters the golden age of cartoons for me was the mid eighties and early 90s. When the Ninja Turtles phased out giving birth to Power Rangers I was so done with kiddie shows and with the exception of Warner’s Immortal Animaniacs/Pinky & the Brain, and DC's various shows didn't go for any of the DBZ/Pokemon/hybrid variations of same show with different monsters phases that a lot of today’s kids can relate to. To me personally it's all crap, not saying all anime is but for me I can't stand to watch any of these shows and that's just one fan's opinion to another. MF/A/E/C I can tolerate but that's only because it's transformers and for that matter a lot better again in my opinion than the "Pokemon, DBZ, Sailor Moon" phase of shows I altogether avoided but have seen enough of to dismiss in all entirety.

the next series is not gonzo and will not be anime according to tfw. i don't know who has the right info

According to TFW:

Some details.

- Animation studio NOT Gonzo ... rather it's Answer and Mook. Whether they're associated with Gonzo, no idea.

- Not "anime"

- Only TF related writer that's even submitted details/info is a guy who did some story editting on Beast Machines (ie: NO BEAST WARS WRITERS)

- Character design ... guy from Teen Titans, Legion of Superheroes, Fosters...

- Director ... did work on Teen Titans, X-Men Evolution

- Cartoon Network is partner in the show, not just the airing network

The overall look is brand new ... like nothing seen before in Transformers. It will not look like the Amarda/Energon/Cybertron trilogy.

Take it as you will.

This part: "- Character design ... guy from ... Fosters" got me thinking about what the new character designs will look like. Here is my prediction for the Seekers:
