Transformers: Heroes to be animated by Gonzo

Recommended Posts

This is all great news so far...but it could all be ruined by the following obnoxious, intrusive anime trends...

-Idiotic comic relief villains that get blasted and simply soar over the horizon, instead of being actually damaged or killed.

-Character's head enlarging massively when they yell

-Exaggerated sweat drops appearing on nervous character's faces

-Abrupt facial color changes to reflect emotions

-Horny characters suddenly having explosive nosebleeds

-Dimensional hammers

These animation devices tend to destroy the fourth wall and suck away dramatic credibility faster than a plot involving clones/time travel. Help us rein in the Japanese, for all of our sakes. Thank you for your support.

Wow, you just described Waspinator... I won't have you badmouthing him! This will not stand! The Dude does not abide!

I'm pretty sure that Optimal Optimus broke the fourth wall with his crack about die-cast construction. It's all in how you do it.

Do you understand zee Eengleesh? The golden era of boys' toys is OVER and Hasbro is changing their business model in light of that reality.

so they're adapting the japanese business model? interesting. the main problem tho is that in America, there are stricker content regulations based on what you can put in a cartoon aimed at children. plus, americans in general tend to look down on hobbies that will not get you laid(like toy collecting, for example) so that will make it difficult to find a large enough teen demographic to aim the cartoon at.

Who said anything about teens? Hasbro isn't changing the demographic that they market to; what's changing is what they're offering to that demographic. Again, because of certain realities. Kids are increasingly more interested in media than in toys.

But if you're going to complain about kids' media, then I think you need to take a good look at yourself and your hobbies, and/or accept that this is and always has been about kid stuff.

Damn those kids, always getting in the way of my hobby.

I go to admit this sounds good to me. Sigma Six is a pretty good show overall. They really kicked off this season right by dropping the whole lame "power stones" crap. If Heroes is done on the level of Sigma 6 or the new Ninja Turtles show then this show will be great.

That was Transmetal Optimus, not Optimal Optimus

And if the animation is on par with the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (before it took a nose dive in "Fast Forward") then I'll be pleased as punch. And some tastefully done CGI might not be too bad... I know it won't be up to Macross standards (god forbid anything should look half as good as it did 20 years ago - thanks a lot, lowered standards), but I'm hoping it doesn't end up as a big fuax-anime fest like Teen Titans, or too stylized/simplistic like Clone Wars.

Does this mean that IDW is gonna get the license yanked from them?

I am not real thrilled with the idea of TFs being a marvel book again.

Otherwise - the Intellectual Property idea is really intriguing - can anyone elaborate on what that means for a company to be an IP-Company??

Also BW story sensibilities are definitely a bonus!

I wouldn't mind if Transformers went back to Marvel as long as Optimus got to show up in the next Marvel Ultimate Alliance game.

But marvel cant bring prime back - in teh marvel universe- he died while playing video games!!

:eek :eek

And we all know that marvel characters never come back from the dead!

:redface

:doh
