JETFIRE!!!

Recommended Posts

I prefer the wings up. He's much more G1 Toon accurate that way.

Ah, fun fun.

I love how this toy is based on the Stormbringer comic version, same gun and everything. Hope some other clasic figs are based from the comic also. Hopefully Springer we will see.

It is the other way around. Stormbringer Jetfire is actually based on the Classics toy.

ACTUALLY, it's based on Skyfire's comic/show appearance most...

well this is a little confusing seeing that the stormbringer comic came out way before we even got word there would be a jetfire in classics. So it only logical to assume that Jetfire is based off of the comic.

Unless, you know, Hasbro's been kicking around the Stormbringer look for a while.

I remember when FanPro redid the Unseen to get them back into the canon, and to avoid -their- copyright issues with Harmony Gold. It wouldn't surprise me if Hasbro did a similar thing years ago, coming up with a design that was as close as they could get.

I think Hasbro's been planning the classics line longer than we realized..

well the stormbringer Jetfire is more like a huge improvment on the old robotech consept.

They had access to the prototype of the Classics Jetfire mold.

Well duh! Still doesn't change that the Stormbringer comic version is based on the Classic toy.

seriously, he might have overtaken my love of Prime and Megs for fav Voyager.

Just so many options.

Anyone else planning on kitbashing a G1 toon style backpack to give him the little extra cockpit and wings instead of the gun thrusters? Shouldn't be to hard, I mean its basically a box with wings and a cockpit. And would make him look like a perfect G1 toon version.

If I can find a second one I am defiantly doing it, that way he can be Stormbringer for heavy combat and jsut good ole Skyfire for exploration and transport.

Oh god. now I get it! yes the design is based on (or actualy inspired by) the G1 toy (duh) or actually to the point, the robotech toy. Big deal. But when you look at the new design it is still an original new design that showed up in the comic. So basicly yes the Stormbringer comic came first and hasbro was cool enough to create a faithfull toy version of the stormbringer jetfire.

cool no more confusion.

so yes the classic jetfire is based on the jet of the stormbringer.

I keep trying to figure out if I'm typing things wrong here. You still keep on reversing it.

Let me try it like this. A timeline in order of when Jetfire stuff was made past-to-present:

1: Original G1 Jetfire/Skyfire stuff

2: Classics Jetfire toy prototype is made

3: Stormbringer comic is made, Don uses the Classics shape for Jetfire

4: Classics Jetfire toy is released

I hope you finally get it now.

Meanwhile I'll try and track down that Q&A where they mentioned this.
